I remember our German Topolino expert said it was appropriately futuristic, but also a bit strange. Make of that what you will. It's certainly popular enough that it was released in its own volume in Italy, with a cover created specially by Sciarrone for the event. Since Inducks is not working properly at the moment, I can't link it...
I hear "At the Hotel" and all I can think of is that scene from the American Dirk Gently TV series. (Those who've seen it know what I'm talking about.)
…More seriously, still a fairly cookie-cutter, uninspired selection of modern material without much to recommend it. On the bright side, though, those are stories which haven't been printed a lot worldwide, so at least they'll be new to most of us.
Has IDW officially ended their series of AlTaliaferro's Donald Duck newspaper strips at 1950? Or do they plan to continue it, at least through the 1950s? Maybe David can tell us?

Does anyone know about the future of Fantagraphics' Carl Barks' Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge Series? They seem to be well behind in announcement of the next Boxed sets, and the follow-up to the next Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge single book releases for next summer/fall. They seem to be several months behind where they used to be announcing release dates and taking pre-orders.
From what I’ve heard, the IDW/Library of American Comics is done with Disney newspaper strip collections. The next Carl Barks volume is in April. Usually they do just two a year, so I wouldn’t panic yet if the fall/winter book hasn’t been announced yet. Fantagraphics isn’t always consistent with boxes for the Barks books, so again, I wouldn’t worry about it this early in the year.

Yeah, specifically, it was mentioned by IDW editor Kurtis Findlay over at The Disney Comics Fan Group on Facebook: "... IDW has said "all done" with the Disney comic strip reprints. We at LOAC want to do more, but our hands are tied."

The next Carl Barks volume is Uncle Scrooge: The Twenty-Four Carat Moon and is scheduled to come out at the end of April. It's in the solicits I posted earlier. I should probably note that trade paperback and hardcover releases of these comics typically get listed for preorder on sites like Amazon several months before they show up in the Diamond Catalog solicits. That said, there currently aren't any other volumes after this one listed at this time. (There are a few Disney Masters volumes on the way however)
The box sets have always had a weird release schedule because those are keeping the books in chronological order while the standalone books aren't being released that way which would explain the long periods of time they take to come out. Looking at the past box sets, it looks like they have been releasing one per year during the fall so it may still be too early to be seeing this year's listed online.

Urrah for another Disney Masters! Stray observations about the blurb:
In this second and final collection of Massimo De Vita's epic saga, Goofy and Mickey return to Argaar to battle an old enemy in "The Prince of Mists Strikes Back," and then save the world from a sleeping sickness in "The Sleeping Beauty in the Stars!" De Vita then turns his attention to Donald Duck and reveals the secrets of the "Belchfire Runabout", a car that Donald thought he knew inside and out!
"second and final"? Odd and slightly ominous phrasing right there.
Reynard is going to be happy about this volume's existence, I feel.
Sounds like we're getting Paperino e il Segreto della 313, which is interesting. It's an interesting story, as one of the few to directly tie into the cartoons, yet also (supposedly; I haven't read it) one of the few stories to hold that Donna Duck really was the same person as Daisy Duck. Also, I appreciate the continuity reference in theory but it feels weird to me to casually mention "the Belchfire Runabout" to refer to the 313, as if that was a commonly-used name for it. Still a very fun name though.

What's ominous about it? It's the second and final collection specifically of The Ice Sword Saga. Doesn't mean anything more than that.

Oh, sure, I don't think it means anything for real, in context. But "second and final", without context, is a slightly unnerving declaration to make. “It's only the second of its kind… and trust us, we'll keep it that way.” I called these 'stray observations' for a reason.
