Just discovered something really curious. I assume you all know Trombone Trouble, the surreal 1944 Donald Duck cartoon written by Carl Barks, where the gods Jupiter and Vulcan give Donald magical powers to help him stop Pete's annoying tuba-playing.
But did you ever notice that a novelization of it was published in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #32 nine months before the cartoon's actual release? What's more, instead of Jupiter and Vulcan, its pair of gods is "Thor and Snor"…
"Novelization"? Hardly; this is a one-page short story, not a novel. But "Thor and Snor" in the WDC version may perhaps say something about the early development of the cartoon short.
