So, the official "Disney Junior" Instagram account came up with this weird family tree. At first glance, it seems to pertain specifically to the Ducktales 2017 continuity, until you realise thaty Donald and Daisy's portraits are taken from another TV show, and Ludwig being married to Matilda is from Don Rosa's headcanon. What a mess! (On the other hand, if I can make that count as official confirmation that Ludwig and Matilda are a couple, well, I'll take it!)
Lol yes, I saw it a couple of hours ago and I even wrote something about it on my blog. The Ludwig-Matilda connection is not even mentioned in the show (in which they both appear and he even has three children!)
Indeed. One might still try and retcon it, but the show clearly did not hint at anything like this. If Ludwig had been Scrooge's brother-in-law, surely it would have been mentioned in some fashion, but it clearly wasn't Angones' intention.
Hi I am new here but I want to improve this duck family tree so I found this Rockerduck's uncle in inducks.org/story.php?c=I+TL+3526-2, it seems like he is Howard Rockerduck's brother, his name is Ebenezer J. Rockerduk. Here there is an image. (I am Italian so excuse me for the english)
Apologies for disappearing for a while - I've had some things going on personally that have taken much longer than expected to resolve.
Sadly, I haven't been able to get the evolutionary tree sorted yet. As you can imagine, a lot of the evidence is contradictory, or prompts further questions and connections that could be seen as too tangential. That being said, I'm still working on it - it'll be a while before it's manageable, sadly.
As for the main index, it might be worth letting the next update go through, as I've been absent for a few notable updates. I can upload the current iteration if necessary, but it would probably make more sense to update the tree with the current information and I'll have the index redone to match shortly after.
Apologies again for the delay - I'm hoping to be back on top of all this again shortly. Hope everyone's been doing well while I was away

Good to see you back! I was actually quite busy myself lately, so I haven't had much time to do any update of the tree. I hope to be able to do that soon.

Hello, I don't know if anyone warned you before, but in Four Color Comics #531 a character named Denise Van Duck appears, it is not mentioned in the story whether or not she is related to Daisy, but she has the same surname on her mother's side of the Daisy Duck's family.
In this week's Topolino's Archimede e l'amico improbabile (story by Francesco Vacca, art by Danilo Barozzi), we can see Gyro's family.
The characters portrayed are: Leonardo Pitagorico, his wife Elisabeth Leduck, Copernico Pitagorico and his brother Cartesio, Ratchet and his wife Martha Bird, Fulton and Newton.
Fulton is copied from Don Rosa, but the others' poses and appearances are taken from Gervasio's Gearloose Family Tree:
So, an interesting one - I finally got my hands on D 2013-132. Specifically the Brazilian Portuguese translation. It's possible that there are translation errors, but I'd imagine the story is largely the same.
The basic premise is that a news article is published about Scrooge's old fiancée, Clementine Cadiddlehopper (Using the INDUCKS names rather than the Portuguese ones). As you can imagine, this leads every woman in town to claim to be the real Clementine, who supposedly died in an accident when a ship blew up - Scrooge survived, but couldn't find her. When the authorities stopped looking, he gave up and moved on.
There's an evil lawyer, Vitriola Vulture, who also claims to be Clementine. She takes Scrooge to court and successfully wins the case.
The ill-tempered judge hurriedly officiates the marriage. When it's proven by Donald that Vitriola is a fake, the marriage is annulled and Vitriola is sent to jail. I won't go into specifics, but they have the real Clementine and prove her identity - however, sadly, she decides not to go through with the marriage. However, she effectively offers Scrooge a date, which we see him accept.
So, in terms of the tree, it's worth discussing: The marriage to Vitriola was officiated - however, this was based on the false assumption that she was Clementine. For a few seconds, at least, Scrooge was legally married to Clementine - although it was annulled, so whether we want to count it or not is up for debate. It's worth noting that Clementine, at this point, had changed her name (It doesn't specify if she legally changed it or just started going by a different name - she's Zézé in the Brazilian Portuguese version.) Finally, Donald and the boys do treat this as a relationship built to last. Obviously nothing concrete, but worth taking note of.
There's also the legal binding that Scrooge is to marry Clementine - she decides not to enforce it, but it's still in effect, as far as we know. I dunno, it's a weird one - it's more than just an engagement, but it's not really a real marriage, either.
I'd like to add her, but I just like having as many people as possible on the tree
I can see why if we don't go down that route, but I'd like to bring it up for discussion all the same I can provide scans if needed

Of course, Clementine Caddidlehopper doesn't belong on Donald Duck's family tree, as she never married Scrooge. Also, Vitriola's few minutes "marriage" to Scrooge being annulled, means that that loosely-termed "marriage" never happened, according to the law.
So, an interesting one - I finally got my hands on D 2013-132. Specifically the Brazilian Portuguese translation. It's possible that there are translation errors, but I'd imagine the story is largely the same.

So, in terms of the tree, it's worth discussing: The marriage to Vitriola was officiated - however, this was based on the false assumption that she was Clementine. 1. For a few seconds, at least, Scrooge was legally married to Clementine - although it was annulled, so whether we want to count it or not is up for debate. 1.

1. Vitriola was never really legally married to Scrooge, under the law, as the judge's annulment of the so-called "marriage" was proven to have been arranged and officiated under fraudulent conditions. So, her name was never legally changed to McDuck.
2. Clementine was offered the opportunity to legally force Scrooge to marry her. But she turned that chance down, because she saw that Scrooge loved money much more than he could love a wife, and he would likely be spending much more time with his money, and earning more of it, than he would with her. However, she wouldn't mind his continuing to sit and drink coffee with her at her coffee kiosk, each morning, reminiscing about old times and serenading her with his ukulele and some new songs, written just for her, once in a while. That was her one opportunity to take advantage of that ancient, outdated, no-longer useful law. She would NOT have been allowed to request the courts to "force" Scrooge to marry her, at a later date (similar to the "double-jeapardy" laws. An accused person cannot be tried for the same crime multiple times. Otherwise Scrooge would have had to live in "fear" for the rest of his life that she could force that marriage at any time.
So, Clementine, just like Glittering Goldie, shouldn't be placed on the Duck/McDuck family tree. IF she had borne his illegitimate child, THEN she should be on the tree, along with the child. But, I don't think a Disney author would go that far; and I don't know any story editors that would allow such an event to pass through to print.

Thank you for answering! I considered asking you myself, but I didn't want to bother you
I think I misinterpreted the ending, either through my own mistake or through translation - that clears things up. I understood it to mean that, while they weren't married, Clementine was giving Scrooge a shot to see if things could work. I absolutely adore the pairing, which probably contributed to my overzealousness
Thank you again for your input!
