Hi guys and girls! I am traveling to Amsterdam on Thursday and I wanted to know if you know of any places that sell Disney comics! Any bookstore to look for and comics to get !?
Here's a list I have of comic book shops from 2012:
Beeldverhaal – Bilderdijkstraat 80, Amsterdam – www.beeldverhaalamsterdam.nl Fantasia – Gelderlandplein 203-205, Amsterdam – www.stripwinkelfantasia.nl Gojoker – Zeedijk 31A, Amsterdam – geen site Henk Comics & Manga Store – Zeedijk 136C, Amsterdam – www.comics.nl Lambiek – Koningsstraat 27, Amsterdam – www.lambiek.net Magic Comic Corner – Zoutsteeg 10, Amsterdam – geen site Nou Moe – Lindenstraat 1, Amsterdam – geen site Snoek Strips – Linnaeusstraat 205, Amsterdam – geen site The American Book Centre – Spui 12, Amsterdam – www.abc.nl Vandal Com-X – Veemarkt 233A, Amsterdam – www.vandalcomx.com
Are comic books popular in Amsterdam? Yes they are! They are very popular all over The Netherlands. You missed a few recent signing events in shops. I really don't know the shops in Amsterdam very well. I used to go to Snoek in the 1980s and 1990s. I haven't gone there in years. I have gone to Lambiek recently. It's a good shop with a good selection.
I know Den Haag, Delft and Leiden best, as I lived in Zuid Holland (Den Haag) for 30 years. I like Dumpie and Leidse comic shop in Leiden, Haagse Strip Shop and Walk-In in Den Haag, and Bul Super in Delft. Also Eppo Stripshop in Eindhoven, where I've done signings.
Disney comics are very popular in the Netherlands! Especially Donald Duck is beloved here.
The newest Disney magazines are sold in almost every supermarket. Many bookstores also sell (newer) comic albums. Known bookstores in the Netherlands are 'Bruna' and 'The Read Shop'. You have to visit comic book stores for older comics. There are quite a lot of these in Amsterdam, see RobbK1's post.
I'd like to add CIA - Comics Import Amsterdam, as one of the few places in the Netherlands where you can buy new US Disney comics. They're located on the Keizersgracht 190. I'm not aware of them having published opening hours.
And Robb, glad to see you're using my old list! I used to keep a list of Dutch comic book stores from what I could gather online and updated it from time to time, but by the time I posted it in 2012 I think I had stopped updating. Comic book stores close fast in the Netherlands, so they might not all be open anymore.

Yes, there aren't many places you can buy US Disney Comics now. Wonderland used to sell them, but they closed for good a few years ago. I used to go to De Zaak Zonnebloem, Richard, Lambiek and Snoek in A'dam during the 1980s and 1990s. Panda and Haagse Strip Shop in Den Haag were the best in those days.
That's a great help! thanks guys! You think I can find the italian TOPOLINOS in one of them ?
I've never seen any Italian Topolinos in a Dutch comic shop. I did find some Egyptian Disney Comics in a Dutch shop once. Once in a great while there are a few German Micky Maus comics.
From which country are you? I would guess that any country other than Italy would be tough to find Topolinos, or any Italian comic books.
So, you are from Cyprus? If you were really born in Cyprus, then I think it was great to see some Disney Comics fans who are from Cyprus and spoke the greek language. I know some shops in Greece that sells some non-Greek Disney comics that are in Italian, French and German and I have visited some of those shops once or twice. If you want to find those Topolino issues so badly, then it's possible that you can go to Greece to find them in those shops.
