"Return to Plain Awful" "His Majesty, McDuck" "Return To Xanadu" "Of Ducks and Dimes and Destinies" "The Last of the Clan McDuck" "The Master of the Mississippi" "The Incredible Shrinking Tightwad" "The Vigilante of Pizen Bluff" "The Three Caballeros Ride Again"
Having almost memorized these stories for the DRL, you know I like many more than just these—but the flavor, pacing, energy, and *warmth* right around the start of the LO$ is next-level.
Also, Uncle Pothole is the best.
This is my list verbatim, and to round it out to an even ten I might add "The Black Knight". He's not a superior comics creator, and it's really bothersome that not even Barks has gotten a collection on the level of the DRL, wherein genuinely bad stories are treated as Holy Scripture. But Rosa did know how to do good Duck Lore, and the period David described produced as good of comics as anyone has ever done.
To me the best Rosa story is "Of Ducks And Dimes And Destinies"
The reason is that, out of the many Time Travel stories I know (movies, comics, novels), this is the only one that actually works. It's logically perfect, and I'd guess one of the reason is that Rosa was an engineer. It's funny that the only coherent time travel story I've read is a Scrooge and Magica de Spell adventure.

I may not go in chronological order, but these are the best Don Ross comics for me:
10. The Black Knight 9. A Little Something Special 8. Of Ducks, Dimes and Destinies 7. W.H.A.D.A.L.O.T.T.A.J.A.R.G.O.N. 6. The Magnificent Seven (Minus 4) Caballeros 5. The Son of the Sun and Return to Plain Awful 4. Last Sled to Dawson 3. The Invader of Fort Duckburg 2. The Quest for Kalevala and The Dream of a Lifetime 1. The Old Castle's Other Secret and The Three Caballeros Ride Again
It's just hard for me to separate, so I put certain comics that are my favorites in the same places. My opinion. I like it best with historical and mythological contexts.
1. The Richest Duck in the World (aka The Empire Builder from Calisota, aka Lo$ chapter 11) 2. The Black Knight 3. Hearts Of The Yukon 4. The Vigilante of Pizen Bluff 5. His Majesty, McDuck 6. The Last Lord of Eldorado 7. A Matter of Some Gravity 8. A Little Something Special 9. The Sharpie of the Culebra Cut 10. The Three Caballeros Ride Again
