My three favorite Disney characters are Donald Duck, Uncle Scrooge and the rarely mentioned father-and-son duo, Big Bad Wolf and Li'l Wolf. It's easy to find many an Uncle Scrooge or Donald Duck collection, but so far I have been unable to locate one starring my favorite duo. Of course, there are the individual tales, but I'm really interested in finding a decent-sized hardcover collection, but I'm not even sure these exist. Can anyone help?? Thanks!

I'm afraid you are. Though there have been comic book that only contained Li'l Bad Wolf stories (Four Color Comics #564, Four Color Comics #403), none were hardcovers, and they are unavailable for purchase at the time of me writing this. Though I'm only speaking for the U.S. of course; here in France, we've even had a long-running newspaper named Li'l Bad Wolf and a couple of hardcovers… but obviously you probably wouldn't be interested.
I’ve never seen any hardcover books collecting Wolf stories either, at least not in English. But it would be interesting to have one with some background information about the characters.
The very first Li'l Bad Wolf story was earlier thought to have been written by Chase Craig. But according to Michael Barrier’s book "Funnybooks" that were published last year, the story was written by Dorothy Strebe. [notes on pg.373 in the book]. I’d like to see some more research done into this matter about who really created Li'l Bad Wolf and how he came to be. An article about this would have been perfect in a book collecting Wolf stories!
If you want to read early stories with the Big Bad Wolf, I think the second volume in IDW’s Silly Symponies collection (not yet announced) will collect all Sunday pages with the Big Bad Wolf. But there’s no Li'l Bad Wolf in these stories, instead we have the three little wolves that are as bad as their father.
I'd love to work on a collected Big Bad Wolf "best-of." Of course his useless son, those annoyingly delicious Pigs, and a couple of no-account Brers would likely find their way into it, too.
The time hasn't come yet, but who knows? One day I might still catch and cook—I mean, get to make this book happen!
Funny thing is, Lil Bad Wolf was kinda popular here in France. He even had his own magazine!!
It was part Lil Bad Wolf comics, Rescue Rangers comics, mostly educational content and also showed non-Disney French comics.
Lil Bad Wolf was also made more "kewwwl" with wearing a jacket and jeans, but he still acted like an innocent kid, and Big Bad Wolf Zeke was usually more stupid and naive than evil. In fact, Lil Bad Wolf would usually act like the adult. (Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? indeed)
Also among his friends, Meana, a girl wolf who was his love interest. A very minor character in old "3 Little Pigs" "Forest" comics, she became a modernized little girl in the French comics. She was like a miniature mischievous Minnie... she also wore a bow and overalls like late-80s/early-90s French Minnie!! Of course, for her reintroduction, she playfully makes fun of an insecure fat kid... who is crushed by this! Thankfully, she makes up for it later!
Other characters were Song of the South Brer Fox and Brer Bear's sons: Alfred and Junior!
Yeah! They're modern "kewl" kids now! Alfred is more of a bully, and Junior is that insecure fat kid I was talking about earlier...
Unfortunately, the magazine got too "kewl" for its own good. And by that, it was deemed that using Disney characters was too uncool... It was Lil Bad Wolf only in name, with his comics barely appearing in the magazine proper...
And then, in the early 2000s, the magazine got rid of Disney property altogether and became Kid Paddle, named after that new radikal fashionable comic about a video game playing-kid. Isn't it much better, more endearing and attractive?
I loved P'tit Loup magazine as a kid. But after seeing more of its magazines when I got older, I have to admit it hasn't aged very well...
Still, I will hunt down those specific issues of my childhood.

If this "Li'l Bad Wolf is popular in France" is true then it was interesting to hear that. I know that he got his own magazine in France back in 80s but I didn't know that this magazine became "Kid Paddle" after they stopped making Disney stories and replaced them with only non-Disney stories in early 2000s. This is the first time that I heard about this change.
Well, I decided to revive this thread because I wanted to post my opinion about the French Wolf series. I always thought that this series was very interesting and that it was great to see Meana appearing in more stories but I don't think that this series fits very well with the normal Big Bad Wolf/Li'l Bad Wolf stories because there are some things that are different compared to the normal series: 1. Meana does not appear in enough normal BW/LW stories but she only appeared in two normal stories. The first one is an american story (This is the story where she debuted) and the other one is a cameo appearance in an Egmont story. 2. In the french stories, Brer Bear only have a son who have a name "Junior" but in the other Forest stories, he have two sons (in some of stories, he have more than two sons) who are different characters and none of them are Junior. Brer Fox also have his own son in the french series but in some of Brer Rabbit stories, he have more than one son and those sons are also different characters. 3. The Three Little Pigs were only seen in less french stories and not in enough stories but maybe because the writers decided to put Meana, Junior and Alfred as the main friends of Li'l Wolf instead of the pigs. 4. Brer Rabbit's only appearance in the french series was in F PL 91010 according to this page on Inducks. I haven't read this story yet but I wanted to know what he looked like? Does he worn different clothes or he worn his traditional clothes? It's too bad that he didn't appear in other french stories but I would love to see him appearing in more french stories. It would be also great to see if he was given a son and have a name like Brer Fox and Brer Bear. I can imagining Brer Rabbit's son being a good friend with Li'l Wolf, Meana, Alfred and Junior and I also imagining him being a trickster figure like his father. I wonder if Brer Rabbit's wife would be Molly or a different female character? I prefer her to be Molly because I always believed that Molly was the only "real" girlfriend of Brer Rabbit but that only in my headcanon. If his wife was a different female character then I would think that Molly is one of the BR/Forest characters who don't exist in this french wolf universe (I consider it as an alternate universe to the normal wolf universe). 5. Big Bad Wolf has a girlfriend named "Marie-Loup" who never appeared in any normal wolf stories but she only appeared in the french stories. She never stated to be Zeke's wife or Li'l Wolf's mother but she was only referred as Zeke's girlfriend. We don't know what happened to Li'l Wolf's real mother (in both normal wolf universe and french wolf universe) but I can imagining some fans creating some ridiculous theories like she got divorced with Zeke or she died of something that is unknown. If Li'l Wolf's mother was really dead then Marie could be Li'l Wolf's stepmother but that's just a theory.
We've had no hardbound books with just The Little Bad Wolf (De Kleine Boze Wolf) in The Netherlands, but we HAVE had several comic albums released (mostly containing the original old US productions from the 1940s and 1950s. You might like those. If you read German and English, you should be able to understand The Dutch Language enough to get the gist of the stories.
I have seen those dutch Li'l Bad Wolf comic albums before and I'm one of the fans who would love to collect those comic albums but I'm not sure if they still sell them. Thanks for the images, Rob but could you please edit your post again because some of the images are not working.

They are not still available from Sanoma, but they can be obtained easily from second hand dealers, and they are not terribly expensive.
Which images (number order) are not working? They ALL show up on my computer.
