That all seems good. EXCEPT for the Nephews. Those voices!!! They sound like teenagers. Huey, Dewey and Louie are children. No more than twelve, at the most. Not to mention them having separate personalities.
I remember...
I think the trailer is fairly good! I never heard the english voices of the original series, but I love the scottish way Scrooge is speaking. I just have to get used to the new pictures, they look kind of ... odd. Oh, boy yes I am excited!
Good to hear the "thougher than the toughest, smarter than the smarties" catchphrase from the comics, which by the way was already present in a 2013 DuckTales videogame (not sure if the original series used it or not).
The first episode of the original series also used that line.
The only thing I don't really like about this trailer are the nephews' voices. They sound too old to me and it feels like they just wanted to make it different for the sake of it. I think it would've been a lot better if they had Russi Taylor, who voiced them in the original series and the majority of their appearances since then, return for them.
The start of the trailer with the nephews visiting Scrooge and reminding him how he "used to be a big deal" gave me Life and Times vibes. I'm also intrigued on how Donald is a renown adventurer in this series and if he's world famous or if that's just in Webby's mind.

I hope they will have the same personality even if they have different voices.
I'm going to have to agree with everyone else when it comes to the nephew's voices (and I felt the same with Webby); all of the kid characters sound like adults. Everything else in this trailer looks great though. I will admit seeing the Carl Barks oil paintings is what started my feelings of hype, followed by the emphasis on adventure similar to what you would find in a Disney Duck comic. So basically this trailer has given me more hope for this series, so let's hope the show is good.
The new series seems to taken srong influance from "Gravity Falls (Webby acts a lot like Mabel from that show as well style of humor) however I did get an epic vibe just from the part when Scrooge runs to confront the ghost and "DuckTales" song kicks-in...
While I wasn't crazy about the desing and the way the nephews looks like for first few second it quickly grow on me. I get that with new show they have to make few updates and I will try to stay optimistic and hope for the best. I love these characters and I hope new generation of kids around the world will get to love and appriciate them as well in a new form
P.S. Did you all noticed Glomgold?
Know as Maciej Kur, Mr. M., Maik, Maiki, Pan, Pan Miluś and many other names.
Ugh, I really dislike how 2010s cartoons generally like. And it seems to unfortunately have its influence on this new cartoon.
I was reluctant to watch this trailer, but I forced myself to see how it is like...
Still find the character design terrible. With all the beautiful art we had in comics for decades, they couldn't find something more appealing? Did they really need to be "quirky"? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
The voices of the nephews sound so awkward!
Why such a drab color theme?? One thing we like about classic Disney universe is beautiful warm playful colors, but here, it's like they intentionally make it all grayish and dull. Like most blockbuster movies of this decade. Blechhh!

Well, you know, drab, unsaturated colors are how you know they're Serious Honking Business!!! instead of just frivolous kid's stuff. </sarcasm>
I wouldn't say I was completely bowled over by the trailer, but I didn't hate it either. I'll definitely give this show a chance. I have a friend who doesn't know much about Duck books planning to watch it just because she loved David Tennant in Doctor Who.

I have a feeling David Tennant wouldn't have been cast if he wasn't in Doctor Who...

Like most people who have posted here, I feel quite happy about the trailer, as it reinforces the positive aspects of the new show vis-à-vis the old one: the shout-out to Barks in the paintings, the inclusion of Donald, the fact that Webby is not so cutesy-poo. I like David Tennant's voice as Scrooge just fine. I do agree that the boys' voices are too old-sounding. Maybe they think boys nowadays won't identify with a male character who sounds like a kid? The animation style is not my favorite, but I'll go with it. Funny to have that blocky character design show up right after the post elsewhere here on the square Ducks in the Italian comics' art outside the stories.
I like how the apparent origin story here harkens somewhat back to Rosa ... Scrooge hanging up his hat after a lifetime of adventure, only to find his passion for exploration reawakened after reconnecting with family. I only wish they had used the Christmas on Bear Mountain story as the backdrop for that meeting, as in Life of Scrooge. Oh, well. It beats the original series' decision to have Donald drop HD&L off with Scrooge while he joins the navy. Donald being main cast fixes the biggest issue I had with the original series. Questions abound: why does Donald seemingly know Scrooge when the nephews don't? How are Donald and the boys apparently celebrities (given the way Webby gushes over them)? And why is Donald dressed so formally during the introductory scenes? HD&L's voices are indeed quite disconcerting, and their individual personalities are still a sore point for me, but overall, I get the feeling I'll like this show better than the original. Rosa's body of work didn't exist for the most part during the first DuckTales, and the creative team of this new show are avowed fans of his, so if we can get over the somewhat unconventional character designs (the animation itself beats the original series) I think this might turn out to appeal to Duck comic fans after all.
Not a fan of the old show, but glad to see this above-expectation clip. I'm OK with HDL having different personalities, as long as they make it reasonable.
