Never mind the question what Duck Avenger is doing underwater, and why he's only wearing a snorkel... where in the world did that giant seahorse come from? And why are there road signs in the ocean? Pretty bizarre all-around...
Also, the series "Paperinik Cult" always had the issue number interpreted in some creative way, but this probably takes the cake:
This one by Casty isn't so strange, but I just think those ducks are funny... or maybe it's Mickey's bare feet...
Donald’s expression is almost creepy, like he’s accepted the fact that he’s being absorbed into the mattress and perhaps looking forward to a comfy oblivion.
Wow, this reply was needlessly dark...
That actually really made me laugh.

Just to ramp up the macabre interpretations of this cover ... maybe Gyro invented the Duck Universe equivalent of Futurama's suicide booths, but went with a "nice relaxing mattress" design. I can see Barks' word balloon now ... "Ah, no more of Daisy shrieking, the boys' endless demands, Uncle Scrooge's curmudgeonliness, or Gladstone's insufferable gloating! Sweet, sweet eternal downy peace!" (I believe there were some early Gottfredson that dealt with Mickey's suicide attempts, so ...)
Um, Fethry, what have you done? Why does Donald look terrified?
Looks like poor Tabby's primal fear of Fethry wasn't so delusional after all. At least they took pains to keep his mangled, bloody corpse just off-page.
