I do wonder, though: there will be changes to the stories\dialogues\art? PKNA isn't exactly for little children...
I think that IDW know that PKNA isn't exaclty for children. and I guess that IDW wants to reach readers of Marvel comics, so won't probably make major changes. I will buy PKNA from IDW, beacuse in Poland Egmont published only 3 issue of PKNA (21-23).
We had two stories from this series printed in the late 90s over here in the Netherlands, and then six or so around 2006-07, and they've started reprinting them again lately, but they never seem to catch on. On the Dutch forums, people were generally quite negative about these stories. They're not for the *traditional* Disney comic fan audience -- it's definitely more superhero comic than Duck comic -- but it's an interesting direction for these stories to go into nonetheless. Personally, I like them (really should reread them) and I'll be following this to see what everybody else makes of them.
I expect a lot of bedazzlement when the first comic hits the stands.
Say, is this the first time an American Disney comic series has started with an issue #0? That alone should tell you something about this.
How delightful! Here's hoping they manage to keep it up.
A bit surprised at there not being a brand distinction, but on the other hand, I get why it'd make no sense to publish "Duck Avenger New Adventures" without Duck Avenger established as a brand first, etc.
It's great to see that IDW will finally publish Paperinik New Adventures in english! I was also waiting for an english version of PKNA and it finally happened. Well, I knew that this english translation will be a different translation from the digital comic version that was made by Comixology where it have "Super Duck" as Paperinik's english name instead of "Duck Avenger".

I think they started with the number "0" for the first issue because they trying to make it similar to the original italian magazine. The first issue was actually started with the number "00": coa.inducks.org/issue.php?c=it/PKNA++00.
Still thinking they should have rebranded him as Phantom Duck starting with the origins
I also like "Phantom Duck" as his english name because it's very close to his original italian name but I still think that Duck Avenger is a good english name too.
Duck Avenger has already been established as his English name in previous comics before the new series, so I think that is the main reason it stays that way. Besides, Archie Comics Publications already owns the name Super Duck, and another Distinguished Competitor might take issue to Super Duck as well.

Not really. In Italy, it started with a simple 0, because it wasn't a regular comic yet. The second number, which was not regular too, was numbered 0/2. The third, 0/3. At long end, the fourth number started the regular "1" numeration.
I think bear this strange numeration also in a foreign reprint is quite useless. They could number it with the "Pk Giant" numeration, with "0: Evroniani" as number 1, "0/2: Il vento del tempo" as number 2, "0/3:Xadhooom!" as number 3 and "1: Ombre su venere" as number 4.
However... PKNA is one of the best comics I've ever read. I'm so happy they're printing it in English!
The thing about Duck Avenger's name is that you want to try to avoid having it sound similar to Darkwing Duck, who also currently has his own comic series coming from another publisher. While Phantom Duck would be a really cool name, it also sounds too similar and could potentially cause confusion to people who are unaware. I'm honestly willing to argue that the cover should say "Donald Duck as Duck Avenger" but that's just me.
The only Duck Avenger stories I've ever read were the painfully mediocre Ultraheroes comic that Boom published and the earlier stories IDW published last year. So it will be interesting to see what this comic is like. From what I've seen, it looks very different from a typical Disney comic.

I know that "Duck Avenger" was already used as his english name in the previous comics before this english version of PKNA. I said that Comixology have made a digital version of PKNA with their english translation. I was wondering they didn't used Duck Avenger as his english for the digital version because that's his official english name that was made by American translators not Super Duck. I also know that Super Duck was already used in some non-Disney comics series like the Archie series that you mentioned.

I think I'll buy the best issues.
OK, Thanks for your confirmation, jubalpomp. So the issues "00", "02" and "03" weren't regular comics but some special comics or something, huh?
My point with the branding wasn't to change the name from Duck Avenger, but more that since IDW seems to want to go through the old DA stories regardless, I'd have expected some sort of distinction in the comic's name to indicate a difference, so you don't happen to go from Duck Avenger on the Donald comics being Donald stealing a matress, go "how nice, they're spinning off this into its own series", and get, well, PKNA :V

Well, but Comixology has never translated PKNA. They translated Pk - Pikappa, which is an other character. That isn't the Paperinik created by Guido Martina and Giovan Battista Carpi, but a new character with the same wearing. In fact, the first number of Pk - Pikappa is actually a new origin, and the character isn't named "Paperinik" but "Pikappa". PKNA, instead, is actually Paperinik.
