I'm also intrigued as to what role April, May and June will play in this series. Do they only appear in one episode or are they regulars? Why were they chosen to appear, and why were they felt more suitable for this show than HD&L?
Angones has seen only one episode, but he seems to say they take HDL's role of the "smart, snarky teenagers going on adventures with the grown-ups".
I know it's risky to draw conclusions from a series of screenshots, but it does look like this is an adventure series, and Angones' statement that this is an educational, rather than entertainment-based show is therefore somewhat surprising. As to using AM&J rather than HD&L, maybe it was simply to increase the ratio of female protagonists? If that's Clinton Coot in the show, I wonder if they'll make any reference to the Junior Woodchucks, and bring HD&L into it that way? Or maybe AM&J will be Woodchucks here (probably appropriate given that the Woodchucks don't play much of a role in DuckTales '17).

Well, the episode list makes it seem as though they're travelng the world and so each episode is there to showcase a particular location. Which is actually pretty much what the original Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros and Two Happy Amigos were about, so if that's what they're doing then they're being as faithful to the concept of a spin-off TV series of those films as possible.

Okay, a bad-quality upload of the intro has appeared:
(EDIT: A better-quality version with a few seconds of non-intro screentime before and after can be found here.
Also, Cartoonbrew posted an article saying Disneylife can also be viewed from the U.K., so there's that. They also hypothesized that Disney might be reserving the show's promotion and international premier for next year, since it will be the original Three Caballeros's 75th anniversary. Plausible, though perhaps optimistic.)
Man, it's sucks to live in a world with no "Three Caballeros" animated series. Like what's the point?
(today)
WHAT? WHAT? WHAT?
I always loved "House of Mouse" apperances of Jose and Panchito
and always said they should make more with them in the same stye. The educational angle fits the characters.
I like that the animation have a very classic (old-shool) look to it. It's a nice change from every other Disney animated show at the moment.
April, May and June... ey? Well what not, as long they mention day are DAISY'S nices, not Donald's. And yes, Disney people all always trying to make their products as deverse as possible so adding few female characters from the comcis it's not bay idea. Recently Minnie's nices Millie and Melody appear in the Minnie's appear in the CGI shorts so why not.
I wonder what's the deal with that human godess (?) From the intro she appear to be a bigger character in the show.
That wizard near the end of opening looks like evil version of Gus.
P.S. They change the "gay" to "brave' in the song, which is understandable.

Premise of the show seems to be Donald, Joe and Panchito inherit a house from Clinton Coot, because their ancestors were the original Three Caballeros, and so they become the new ones (so yeah it's a new origin story for the Three Caballeros)

Do you have a source for this? It would be amazing to have Clinton Coot show up in animation as an ancestor of Donald's. As for this being an "educational" show; I suppose if they have globe-trotting adventures, you could call it that on some level, but it seems like a loose definition of the term. I notice Daisy, AM&J don't appear in the intro; perhaps they are not regulars and the episode that Angones happened to see was the one they appear in? EDIT: I presume you've watched the first episode or have heard from someone who has? Is "Clinton Coot" confirmed then?

So are we to assume, perhaps, that these are the past adventures which are vaguely alluded to in Don Rosa's Caballeros stories?

That's possible, this could be a prequel to the Three Caballeros movie. I doubt they're trying to tie into Rosa in any way (but again, if that's Clinton Coot, maybe they are).

True, it could easily be seen as a prequel to the movie. José and Donald already know each other in the film (and it's supposed to be from Saludos Amigos, presumably, but Aquarello do Brazil can only be seen as canon in the loosest of sense in any grounded storyline), and it's never made clear whether they knew Panchito. But yes, I was thinking of Don Rosa in-tying because of the confirmation that this is Clinton Coot after all.

How about the term "The Three Caballeros"; does it look as if they coined it in the movie, or could you argue that it was pre-existing (I have no way to watch it again at the moment)? Also, *is* Clinton Coot confirmed? The KKM seems to suggest it is, but I'd like to know for sure. And it would be great if Grandma appeared on the show, if only to tell Donald about his great-grandfather. To make up for her absence on DuckTales '17, at least.
I'm going by what the person who first started talking about this show being in the app is saying of each episode they're watching, apparently Clinton coot is named but not shown on the first episode

The term is introduced when Panchito bursts out of a present, announcing something to the effect of: "Hurrah! Now we're Three gay Caballeros!", immediately leading into the Three Caballeros song number. On the one hand you could say that's where they coined the term, and that's what I would have assumed without this show; but on the other hand, going per the Don Rosa evidence that the “Three Caballeros” song is real in-universe as the three friends' anthem, rather than just an 'imaginary' musical number. And the way Panchito throws himself at the other two, shotuing “My friends,” does lend itself to the idea that he already knew them a while ago… but then he "welcomes them to Mexico" and refers to them as "gentlemen". Really, his dialogue can be read both ways.
In the end it may not have been the intention, but you could easily see the scene as Panchito cheering that the Three Caballeros are once again gathered, and the three immediately joining into singing their good old song. It helps that the song speaks of them with already established habits and a group dynamic even though this would otherwise be their few first minutes together.
Here's the scene in question for you to make up your own mind:

Are we sure she'll stay absent? I wouldn't be surprised if she was introduced as a one-episode character later on, much like what they did with Duckworth or Quackfaster.

Can you give us a link on that person's "reports"?

Angones was asked about Grandma quite a while back, and said something to the effect of, "I've heard about her, maybe we'll use her some day". In other words, I wouldn't hold my breath.
BTW - I don't think this show existing would be a issue for current Duck Tales to have Panchito and Jose appear. The new "Mickey Mouse" shorts and "Mickey and the roadster racers" use them any time they want.
