Very plesant so far. Actualy It felt less like first episode and more of a first act of a movie. I woudn't be all that shock if this started as a direct to DVD-movie or the pilot was ment to air with first few episode back to back (like DuckTales) So far very little happened but it was (agian) very plesant, so no complain here.
The animation is exelent! Some great, very fast slapstick (I woudn't be all that shock if this was hand drawn animation and not ToonBoom), very nice colors and a lot of old-fashion gags very much in te spirit of something like "House of Mouse"/"Mickey Mouse works" only longer and more plot driven.
Who ever said this is educational show got things totally wrong! So far only thing I learn is that fire department in Duckburg are bunch of jerks (Donald's house burns down to the ground and they poke fun at him) Speaking of which - YEP, the universe is mostly funy animals of every kind.
Few refrences aside (Donald parents on a paiting) It had more to do with old Donald shorts universe then anything Barks/Rosa related... Heck! HD&L DON'T LIVE WITH DONALD IN THIS!!!
Pete makes a cameo - as well a FEMALE PETE (must be his wife/cousine)
Jose Carioca while true to his character in the oryginal movie (or "Saludos Amigos" and "Blame it on Samba") had few elements from other things - Rosa (being Pepe Le Pew/Fancy-Fancy from "Top Cat" like lady's man) and I I guess Brazilian comcis - the fact he is broke all the time and a bit of a con-man.
Panchito has his long name from "House of the Mouse". He didn't do much in the episode but also felt well characterised.
The villian is ok, being a high-brown snob annoyed with Caballeros more simple ways... feels like a good conreast.
The only thing I... I can't say didn't like as much I think could been better is the use of April, May and June. So Daisy brakes up with Donald but they still come over to help him with the yard sale. I don't know, I think they could find better use to introduce them. The voices are tad adult and they feel like each one havea diffrent personality (or at least a very diffrent voice) I didn't mind them as much jest felt like very forced apperance just point out there are part of the show. We shall sea...
Over all, very fun so far. I hope to see more soon

…what's ToonBoom? All we've seen of the animation so far pointed to hand-drawn, with C.G.I. elements in the background. So what in Barks's name is ToonBoom, and how does it differ from hand-drawn? Hand-drawn, stop-motion, C.G.I., flash, and… ToonBoom!? I'm really confused.

ToonBoom is softweare to create animation use my most Studio this day. Imagine a computer program that allow you - via tablet - to create animation, and not just flash style aniation but Disney-movie level animation... if you have time for it (and by time I mean money - since you have to pay animators to do it) You can have model character you animated by using ring or use it to creat frame by frame traditional 2D animation (or even CGI as far I know) In other worlds - you can us it create something that's clearly was made on computer and something you can't tell a part.
I talk with a friend with who is a profesional animator with I work on few shows and she comfirm that this is Toon boom.

Belive or not THIS animation is actualy computer ToonBoom MODELS - they just make key poses and have many in-betweeners so it feels like traditional animation :

You don't say! I knew that "CGI pretending to be hand-drawn" used on Lion Guard and Jake and the Neverland Pirates, but I had no idea they were using it here. The technology has very much improved, I see.

I'd still call that C.G.I., in the most basic meaning of the term. "Computer-Generated Images". Rather than drawing each frame, an informatic puppet is drawn once and the animator just shifts it into position for each frame.

The animation in this clip from the first episode does not look particularly appealing. Nothing against software animation, I am all in for any form of technology and innovation. But the animation in that clip, despite not being bad at all, it looks just, I don't know...average? Anonymous? And Panchito's voice does not seem convincing.
Anyway, good to have a series with this three characters, their potential is clearly unexplored. Even in comics, according to me. (Yes, I know that Brazilians did a tone of comics featuring Josè and the Dutch many sto ries with Panchito...but beside the two masterpieces by Rosa there was not much with "three caballeros".)

I agree that Panchito's voice is a little too deep. The House of Mouse voice was better. And yes, the animation can be, well, bland, I believe is the word you're looking for. That being said, I've now watched more of the show and it does have its moment when slapstick is involved.

Weird detail: the Aracuan Bird has a variation of his "fast paced ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-tee-yah" routine, but it's… not quite the original tune, yet extremely like it. Did they have a rights issue or something? It's kind of distracting.
Man, I love this already. Finally, finally, FINALLY some on-model, polished animation, and not that angular "hip"/"edgy" stuff, and finally some proper coloring, too. I like the charming humor, and the fact that it's all genuine, and not covered in 20 coats of irony/sarcasm like the new DuckTales; I don't think I fully realized how much I dislike the DT reboot until this. Very excited to see more of this show.
Also, FWIW, Clinton Coot is voiced by a certain "Thomas Lennon".
