Hi, fellow Disney comics fans! Glad to see that DCF has a successor!
For all my fellow Dutch collectors, - I have had 3 stories printed recently. They are the following:
Donald Duck - "Een Rubriek Vol Romantiek" - Donald Duck Weekblad Nr. 7 - 2016
Donald Duck - "Geen Eend is een Eiland" - Donald Duck Extra Nr. 7 - 2016
Donald Duck - "Een Explosieve Vakantie" - Donald Duck De Spannendste Avonturen Nr. 8 Eerste verhaal!!!
I look forward to your comments upon reading them.
Unfortunately, none of these stories have yet been printed in English. The first two have also been printed in Scandinavia, Finland, and Germany. The 3rd has only been printed in Finland (outside of The Netherlands).
Hi, Rob Klein! It's great to see that you came back and joined to this forum. I was waiting for you to come back and you have finally returned today. I also think that it was great to see more DCF members coming back and joining to this forum after DCF was closed down . Well, I'm so glad that the dutch editors continue printing your stories in different magazines. I hope they will print your non-Duck stories in the future like the José Carioca story (or it was two JOC stories? Please remind me on that if you wrote one or two stories with him) and the Brer Rabbit story that you told me in one of the Brer Rabbit threads that I have created on DCF.
Yes, we still have 3 José Carioca stores and 2 Brer Rabbit stories to submit to Sanoma Uitgevers. But, currently, Henrieke has 2 of Ruud Straatman's Brer Rabbit stories to work on, beforehand. Her art is fantastic now. It is much, better than even her excellent work of last year. I now like her Brer Rabbit and Joe Carioca characters best of all, and even better the classic 1940s art of Paul Murry.
I, myself, am working on several stories for Jan Gulbransson to draw. And I also am working on some Gyro Gearloose stories I hope Tim Artz will draw. His artwork is also improving by leaps and bounds, until it is reminiscent of Carl Barks.
In addition, I am working on expanding an audience-participation story created by Henrieke, Tim and myself, in a storywriting/storyboarding demonstration session/seminar we held at Eppo Stripshop in Eindhoven last summer. It was originally limited to 4 pages. But, I'm expanding the story to 10-page (lead story) size. It is a traditional Donald/Neighbour Jones domestic war story, now with a funny psychological twist added. I hope it will be published within the next 6 months, so you will be able to enjoy it. I hope I can also convince my Dutch editors to order mine and Jan's "The Marriage of Scrooge" 24-page epic story from Egmont within the next few months (already printed in Scandinavia, Finland and Germany) to be printed in The Netherlands.
OK, thanks for answering me, Rob Klein. So, you wrote three José Carioca stories and two Brer Rabbit stories total. Speaking of Henrieke, I have seen some of her artwork and I agreed that her artwork for Brer Rabbit characters was fantastic and it is still fantastic. I hope you will continue working on more H-coded/dutch stories for Sanoma to submit. I think your Egmont stories looks great and interesting too.

Thanks. I am also working on a 30-page epic adventure story with Joe Carioca as the hero, in the style of the original USA newspaper strip. I know that Sanoma can't print it all in one book. But, I hope they buy it and serialise it. It's called "Green Fever", and is about the legend of lost emeralds in The Brasilian Mato Grosso rainforest, and has a lost Amazonian tribe, which uses dangerous, supposedly man-eating plants as a weapon, and these plants are unusually able to detach their roots and run after their victims (people). Henrieke wants to draw that one, as well.

Oh, that José Carioca/Joe Carioca story sounds very interesting and I hope this story will be printed in more countries not just The Netherlands. I also want Henrieke to draw that story because I would like to see more stories with her artwork to be printed.
