On a different tangent entirely; does Return of the Jedi refer to the return of the Jedi *Order*(with the defeat of the Sith) or of a particular Jedi Knight, i.e., the redemption of Anakin Skywalker? I always thought it was the former, but I've heard some people think it was the latter. If it were the latter, though, wouldn't that sort of be a spoiler right there in the title (in a way that general triumph of the Jedi Order is not)? The fact that the original title was "Revenge of the Jedi" seems to suggest the reference was to the Order.
I seen the movie some time ago. I recall, I didn't care for the first act but after Lando joins in the movie pick up and I was mostyl enjoyable ride, especialy the chase scene... HOWEVER I must admit not super memorable. The new characters felt bland. It felt like a movie I watch once and don't have need to see it agian, unlike something like "Force Awaknes" or "The Last Jedi" that despite their flaws are movie I have intrest in re-watching and found very memorable.
ALSO - I wish they would leave the rebelion out of the movie and just left this as Solo's smugler adventures.

For what it's worth, the foreign title has "the Jedi" be unamiguously singular. So you could say it's about Luke coming back, but otherwise it's gotta be Anakin.

Interesting. But from what we've seen vis-à-vis The Last Jedi, foreign translators aren't always on the same page as the creators of the original movies.

The German title is "Die Rückkehr der Jedi-Ritter" aka "Return of the Jedi Knights", where the article makes clear it's plural. "The Last Jedi" is called "Die letzten Jedi" and again, the article and the ending of the adjective imply a plural.
In the Expanded Universe Luke managed to rebuild the Jedi Order, but it took some years after the movie. He started his project six years later, 10 years after the Battle of Yavin, when the Galaxy was terrorized by a clone of Emperor Palpatine. 20 years after the Original Trilogy the Order consisted of a hundred or so Jedi, this was during the era of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion which lasted from 25-30 ABY and was told in the New Jedi Order novel anthology, my favourite piece of Star Wars fiction after the OT and PT. But after it, I stopped reading, because then the stories get a bid bad, honestly... I guess that's where the EU storyline should have ended.
Carrie Fisher will star in the next Star Wars movie thanks to the unused footage from episode VII...
Or as I prefer to pretend in my head Carrie Fisher is such badass actress that being dead wasn't enough of a inconvenience for her and completing her role in the Star Wars Saga was beyond such cheap excuses... (She work on "Family Guy" for years, I'm more then sure she had a sence of humor about this stuff)

Solo, for all its faults, wasn't terrible; drawing at least some inspiration from the old Extended Universe, it should have appealed to old-school fans a little more than the rest of Disney Star Wars. Unfortunately, it seems to have suffered due to the bad taste The Last Jedi left in the fandom's mouth.

I always figured it just meant "Luke Skywalker's back". He's the Jedi that's returning.

I still maintain that Rogue One was a great movie, and Solo wasn't too bad. Had they stuck to an anthology film every three years or so, they would have been fine. The Sequel Trilogy was Disney's real folly. The Skywalker saga was complete with the first two trilogies. Episodes VII-IX didn't need to be made, and in the process, they simply regurgitated plotlines, recycled character arcs, and oversaturated the market. Erasing the decades-old, much-beloved Expanded Universe didn't sit well with fans either. Contrary to what some have suggested, I don't think the alleged political overtones of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi had anything to do with how poorly they were received. They were just awful, unoriginal, uninspiring, eminently forgettable movies. I guess this means the Rian Johnson Trilogy is also toast. Can't say I'm too heartbroken about that.
Solo paid for the anger that The Last Jedi generated.
Solo was an excellent film outside of that female Droid and the concept that Lando was attracted to droids. Unfortunately, the fan base is/was sufficiently annoyed and a bad box office is the only way to make their demands heard.
