I'm looking for stories in which characters on the right side of the law ends up in jail for whatever reason. I know this has happend to at least three. (Scans of characters in prison outfit preferred, but not required.)
Mickey AND Minnie are briefly in jail in Rawson/Ferioli Vacation Brake. No prison outfits, though--it's jail, not prison, and they're in their own clothes.
Donald ends up in jail in that Barks story where he starts burning everything (I forgot what it was called), although I don't think he's on the right side of the law that time.
Minnie is thrown in jail in Mickey Mouse in Death Valley. Mickey briefly goes to jail in Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers.Horace Horsecollar is jailed in The Great Orphanage Robbery.Donald lands himself in the slammer in this Taliaferro strip. Other than what I've mentioned, I can't think of any comics where law-abiding characters ended up in prison. I can, however, think of quite a few examples in animation, but I think your request is for examples in comics, not animation. I'm sure there are plenty of other comics where such a thing happens, I'm just either not familiar with them, or they have slipped my mind. Also, I don't have any images of the characters in jail. I apologize for that.
No matter what I say or do, know that Jesus loves you.

I put Scrooge McDuck in jail for breaking an ancient law that was forgotten to be removed from the law register, that if a man promises to marry a particular woman, and he doesn't do it within 6 months, she can have him forced by law to marry her ("The Marriage of Scrooge" D 2013-132). If he refuses to say. "I do", or "I will", he can be put in jail. When Scrooge doesn't believe a crooked lawyer, who claims to be his long lost fiancée, he is thrown into jail, until his marriage to her is forced by the court.
What do you mean by "started this"? Started your quest to find examples of good-guy Disney characters in jail?
Exactly. (Yeah, maybe I could've phrased that better.)
Well, in that case... I'm sure you already have this, but I've always liked the front cover art for the DuckTales VHS "Jailhouse Duck", illustrating the episode "Duckman of Aquatraz". Here in its UK edition:

Long story short (or, rather, short story even-shorter), Gyro realizes that it's mother's day, and he forgot to buy his mom a present, and because it's sunday, the shops are closed and he can't buy her anything anymore. He sees the perfect present in one of the shops display window, and (reluctantly) decides to use one of his inventions to "break in" by teleporting himself into the store, of course leaving the money in the cash register, so no harm is done. But, as he tries to put his money in the register, the alarm goes off and he gets caught red handed by the police. In the last panel, his mother says to him: "How could you do something like this, Gyro boy? Giving your poor old mother such a scare. And on mother's day, no less!" Gyro responds "I know, Ma...Sigh...". It's one of the one-pagers that were printed on the back of each week of the 1986 Dutch weekly magazine, and one of the funnier ones.

Animation is fine. (Matter of fact, Ducktales '87 is what started this.)
Onward to animation!
In animation, Mickey Mouse has been shown to be in jail in at least three different shorts. One could theorize that all three surround the same event, but this is unconfirmed. The first and oldest of these examples is "The Chain Gang" from 1930, which surrounds Mickey's time in and escape from prison without letting us in on how he ended up in prison. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIv12pLu_zQ
The second is "Hickory Dickory Mickey" from 2001, where yet another prison escape from Mickey is shown through flashback.
I believe Mickey is also thrown into a dungeon at one point in Mickey, Donald, and Goofy: The Three Musketeers. I think Scrooge goes to jail in Ducktales the Movie: The Treasure of the Lost Lamp, but I haven't actually seen it myself.
Oh, and let's not forget that, in addition to "Duckman of Aquatraz" and "DuckTales The Movie", Scrooge went to jail in both "Time Is Money" and the ridiculous "Super DuckTales" from the second season.

Just curious, wasn't aware of the episode or the home video art?
