What the devil? What even—AAAAH!…ugh… oh, well, surely it can't be as bad as this cover looks? The writers are three Italian mainstays. They wouldn't screw up *this* badly… would they?……
Ok what on earth is up with that second one? It looks like something from the 90s.
That's the idea — we now lived in the cursed time periods where people are starting to feel nostalgic for the garish mess of teenagehood in the 90's, see. And whoever ordained the creation of this there monstrosity obviously ran with a "sliding timelien" principle and determined that a 30-something Donald in 2019 would have been a teenager in the 1990's.

Somehow, this cover is worse than IDW’s. That Minnie Mouse...just...no. At least we get a new Uncle Scrooge issue. Unless we’re getting Young Scrooge McDuck next, where Scrooge is reimagined as a youthful go-getter in the 1980s. (Disney, Topolino Magazine...do NOT use this idea!)

Gotta disagree with you on this, Deb. True, Minnie looks weird (and Daisy looks weirder) here too, but the IDW one just seems badly-drawn to me on top of the very questionable concept.
If Young Donald Duck is meant to be a nostalgic 90s throwback comic, then this is going to be a huge dud because I can tell you right now that nobody in that demographic is going to be reading this. If this is the kind of comic they're aiming to make, then why not make it a Goof Troop/A Goofy Movie focused book where you already have a cast of teenagers in a 90s high school setting in the classic Disney style? Now that is something that would actually capture the attention of 90s kids while also not alienating longtime fans.
Wait, is Daisy holding a smartphone there? That wouldn't make sense for the time period.
Well, no one has actually SAID it's supposed to be set in the 90s. The main point just seems to be, 'make Donald and the gang teenagers'. So maybe they're mixing clichés from different time periods.

Disney Comics don't touch non-comics property unless it's a very rare occasion, remember?
