going the masters way it will take a long time the complete both their libraries
You are being optimistic. Let’s be realistic: the “Van Horn Library” within the Disney Masters will never be completed. It would require at least 8 Van Horn books and with at least 2 years between books it will never happen. You are right, Fanta should have published a true Van Hirn Library separate from the Disney Masters. Alternatively, they should have done what I suggested and published a “best of Van Horn” Disney Masters volume instead of publishing his worst, earliest stuff.
In the end, 2 or 3 “best of Van Horn” volumes would have been way better than a pseudo Van Horn Library that is stopped after his earliest stories.
Not sure if this would work in the US but i wish fantagraphics would try a subscription service like hachette in europe like offer a subscription for a van horn or jippes library, maybe offer a volume even quarter for 25 $, give fans a chance to see if it will work
My "most wanted" is a Bill Wright volume (or two); he was the best post-Gottfredson American Mickey artist, and I'd love to see stories like "Ghost of Man-Eater Mountain," "The Phantom Thief," and "The Giant Ants" collected in hard covers.
Joakim Gunnarsson at Swedish Egmont recently asked the Facebook group for suggestions for future books. Among the most requested were libraries for Vicar, Paul Murry, Daan Jippes and Romano Scarpa. Many also wanted a collection of Buettner's wolf stories and thematic books with specific characters or settings.
I suggested libraries of Manuel Gonzales, Casty, Kari Korhonen and Marco Rota (or at least a collection of the Andold stories), a collection of the 90s Mickey stories by Ferioli and a Ludwig von Drake collection.
Afterwards Gunnarsson said that two of the suggestions are planned for 2024.
I want the Uncle Remus Song of the South newspaper strip book that Fantagraphics was going to produce a few years back before the plug was pulled completely plus continuations. I realize it won’t happen but I love those characters. I want them to finish out the Barks series and I’d like a final volume of the Treasury of Classic Tales. I’d also like to see a complete book of the Uncle Scrooge’s Treasure Chest series.

I am happy for people that enjoy the masters library but id really wish we would get a dedicated Dean Jipps library or Van Horn because going the masters way it will take a long time the complete both their libraries that's assuming the masters line continue
I second that. I recently bought the 4 Jippes volumes published in France this year and I found them amazing! They feature a long and interesting interview and the story selection is really solid, with stories divided by period and publisher. They even collected his strips and pages from the Newspapers!! I believe the redaction did a superb job with these "tomes" and I publicly compliment them all (I know that our user juicymcduck worked on them, so props to him as well!) Yet, they are different from what a Disney Masters volume would be. They are paperback and with much room for editorials.
A Van Horn library would be a dream and I really hope that Fantagraphics went on. I've got the Lustig/Van Horn volume, featuring their early collaborative productions, but there is a lot of Van Horn stories that never saw the lights in the States (or even outside Scandinavia) and it would be the perfect chance to get them in a nice collected edition.
Idea: a book collecting the 14 non-Barks comic Barks made covers for (I counted 14, but there might be more):
W WDC 282-05, W WDC 295-01, W WDC 309-06, W WDC 310-06, W OS 356-02, W OS 348-02, W OS 394-02, W DD 27-02, W DD 28-02, W DD 101-02, W DD 103-01, W DD 105-02, W DD 106-02, W DD 111-01
193 comic pages + the 14 Barks covers = 207 pages. Perfect page count for a Disney comic hardcover
I've become more and more interested in the history of Italian Disney comics and am checking out the year-by-year book series, The Topolino Story. Maybe it's too niche, but it would be cool to see Fantagraphics tackle in-depth history and anthologies like that (and thank you for the Around the World book!).
That does look great! In English, I think 3 Jippes volumes would be essential: a Milton/Jippes volume (already published), a Barks/Jippes volume (won't be necessary as we will get all the Jippes remakes of the later Barks stories within the Barks library), and a solo Jippes book (I hope this will be published later within the Disney Masters).
