I thought it would be a good idea to have just one "I can't remember" thread, rather than several for specific instances, because I figure if at least someone didn't make this thread, there would be probably millions and everyone would get confused (similar to the solicitations threads).
- If you can't remember/don't know which story a particular event happened in, ask here.
- If you can't remember/don't know what a specific character's first/last/only (insert country here) appearance is, ask here.

Okay, I'll go first. Does anyone recall a Western Publishing story where some guy is looking for Goofy because he's actually royalty, or he's come into some inheritance or some such, and Mickey says no one knows anything about Goofy's family, he just sort of appeared out of nowhere or something like that (Goofy is standing right next to Mickey when he says that, mind you). I don't know who drew it. I'd know it if I see it.

I've never read it, so I'm going out on a limb here. Is it maybe this?

"We don't know anything about Goofy's family or childhood, sir," Mickey tells a man in this story. "He just turned up one day and we've been good friends ever since!"
I have a vague memory of a scene from a story, where Mickey and Goofy are investigating the Phantom Blot. They are separated, and Mickey goes down into a basement. There, he finds the Blot, knocked out. Mickey unmasks him... and it's Goofy!
I read this story when I was a kid, and it was the first time I ever saw the Blot unmasked, so I thought the Blot really was Goofy. But is that story even real, or is it just some memory I made up somehow?

Wow, you found it! It's been driving me crazy for years. How did you manage it, especially since you had never read it yourself? I mentioned this story on another thread in the context of the phenomenon of "imprinting"; I read it as a child and it was quite possibly my first exposure to Comics-Goofy, so the idea that Goofy's family was a mystery (even to him) stuck with me for many years, such that every time I encountered a story where Goofy's relatives (of which he apparently has several) showed up, it just felt wrong.
I wish I could read this story again, but it looks like it hasn't been reprinted anywhere I can access easily.

I found it solely through the power of INDUCKS, one of the greatest tools to a Duck fan. Glad I could be of assistance.

But where did you even start on INDUCKS? I gave you almost nothing.
I used the advanced search tool. I put "W" in the "Story code starts with" box. I put "inheritance heir royalty royal" (I think) in the "Keywords" box and set it to "match any word". I hit search and found three different stories that matched the criteria. One was a strip, and one was a text story. You seemed to have been referring to a typical, fully-drawn comic story, so I ruled those out and was left with the story I linked.

Does anyone remember an early Italian story (50-60s) published in a Danish pocket book where Scrooge,Donald and the boys go to Italy? Outside that, I only remember Scrooge telling D and N that they’re going somewhere. Donald asks where, and Scrooge replies: “ The sun of the south, Italy!” I also remember them all 5 sitting as blind passengers in a Italian wagon with bread. Does anyone remember this story? Best regards,Rrr
