I just finally got a copy (in German) of the Oscar ten Houten Kerst en zaken story. INDUCKS says Goldie appears in it, but it's actually Daisy disguised as Goldie. There is a two-panel flashback to Scrooge's childhood Christmas in Scotland (yes, Christmas in Scotland in Scrooge's childhood: this author does not care about historical accuracy as much as Byron Erickson does!). The characters in the flashback are Downy, one of Scrooge's sisters (INDUCKS says Hortense, but my guess is that it's Matilda), Uncle Jake (who "always" cooked Christmas dinner, in the fireplace!), and Uncle Angus "Pothole"--the text says "Sogar Onkel Diethelm war extra angereist"--I think, "even Uncle Angus made the trip" (from America?). Nothing happens in the flashback. I just thought some of you would be interested in the appearance of the two uncles in the flashback.
It is always nice to see stories with the McDuck uncles and sisters. Jake is a very pleasant surprise, since we didn't saw much of him in Life and Times.
But Pothole...it does not feels right. Pothole emigrated to America in 1850 and didn't even knew how Scrooge looked like when they met in 1880.

Good point on Pothole. As a counterpoint, note that the News on the March segment at the beginning of The Richest Duck in the World shows a McDuck family portrait that shows Uncle Pothole with a young Scrooge who already has his shoe-shining kit. It also shows Jake, Fergus, Downy, young Matilda, and baby Hortense in the same picture, so it's hard to fathom it was taken anywhere but Scotland. That's really hard to square with The Master of the Mississippi, but it is what it is.
No matter what I say or do, know that Jesus loves you.

Someone on a Northern European forum had asked Rosa about that, but unfortunately the website is no longer active and I don't even have the link anymore to check if there is an archived version. The only bit that I can retrieve from that discussion is a single quote that I had copied in other websites by chance, but it is unrelated to the matter at hand. Anyway, if I remember correctly, Rosa's answer was that he thought of that image as a painting rather than a picture, and that he had added Pothole because he wanted to show the whole family. Perhaps it would have been better if Pothole were not in that panel from chapter 12, but I guess showing him in person in a flashback is worse than showing him in a picture which could be a painting.
By the way, does anyone have some images from the story?
