Codino who is the main character in Romano Scarpa's 33-page-long Codino cavallo marino, and expect for a very few cameos has not appeared anywhere else. Btw, how many other Disney comics are there that feature only characters that haven't appeared anywhere else (except for cameos)?

Thanks for the link! Although it seems that comic was based on a 1954 short film, while Codino is entirely original. Anyway, the Silly Symphonies comic book series that story appeared in had some interesting comics, but none of them were original, I checked them on inducks one by one and all of them are aither adaptations of short films or remakes of older comics.

One of the most obscure but memorable characters from my childhood is Lord Money, a British tycoon who is a rival for Scrooge in a couple of 1960s stories from Italy. Collects antique typewriters. One memorable moment is when Scrooge can't find a newspaper to read in the gentleman's club, so he plays a gramophone record of "God Save the Queen". Lord Money stands up for the anthem (as you do) and Scrooge nicks his paper.

Just saw this on inducks: after 75 years, Donald's cousin Cuthbert Coot is back! That's right, for the first time since his first appearance in 1945 in Bark's W WDC 55-02, Cuthbert Coot appeared in a new story in the Netherlands last August.
Glauco's name appears to mean a kind of pale blue/green color, probably referring to his eyes.
This is not a bad interpretation. In Greek, "glaukos" is an attribute of the sea. Translations include "shining", "shimmering" and "sea-green". As a name, Shining seems fitting for a child of Snow White and Prince Charming.
Hello there!
I think Glauco's name can be explained if we consider Prince Charming's Italian name, which is Principe Azzurro.
"Azzurro" is a colour, corresponding to the English "Sky Blue" or "Azure" (Does the name Azure Blue ring any bell? ).
So, if you think about it, in Italian both of the child's parents have a colour in their names: Snow WHITE and Prince AZURE.
And what do you get if you whitewash some sky blue? A "pale blue/green colour". Bingo!
Given the colour-union concept, the name was chosen in a hartbeat, being Glauco a regular, albeit not very common, Italian name (I have friends called Glauco too!)

Scarpa's aim with the story and the character was exactly that to attempt to create a new Silly Symphony, a personal one for his own amusement.
So Codino was conceived right from the start as a one-off character, like the vast majority of SS characters.
Ah, I recognize this thread is a little old, but I’d love to contribute a personal favorite of mine, Rocha Vaz from the Brazilian Zé Carioca comics! He’s the grouchy papa of José Carioca’s love interest, Rosinha Vaz, and he’s honestly just a very charming antagonist. His gag is basically that he doesn’t want Zé in a relationship with his daughter and it results in some absolutely hilarious interactions between the two.
Here’s his INDUCKS page, if you’d like to check him out! link

I have found another one: When You Show Your Gums...Smile! starring Buck Duck. I believe this and the already mentioned Codino cavallo marino starring Codino the fish are the only two completely original Disney comics ever, meaning that none of the characters that appear in these comics have ever appeared anywhere else before, not in another Disney comic, not in a movie, not in a cartoon.
Two notes:
- the Shutterbug comic I mentioned above could be the third "completely original Disney comic" if the Inducks note about it not being a Disney comic is incorrect and if that character has not appeared somewhere else before - I am not counting comics that feature only new characters but one of them is an alternative version of an already excisting character such as Pena das Cavernas, starring a caveman version of Fethry

Caballero, there are actually a lot of Buck Duck stories, though the one you pointed out is the first. He's crossed over with Donald a couple of times.

Yes, but only the first of them is "completely original", meaining that it features only characters that haven't appeared anywhere else before. It's like if someone created a second Codino comic now it wouldn't be "completely original" as Codino already appeared in the first Codino comic.
A year ago a new character debuted in Finland: Albe Uivelo, who seems to be a female mechanic. What's intereting about this debut is that she debuted as the main character of a 10-pager.

I wonder if our resident expert of female Disney comic characters, Matilda has seen this story.
I wish! No, I haven't seen the story, but I knew about it. I don't remember whether that's because it was mentioned somewhere on this forum, or because I was just browsing through Korhonen's stories on INDUCKS, as one does.
I would like to see again a lot of one-shot characters from 1950/60/70s US production. The first one that comes to my mind (and that I can see at the Billionaires Club together with Ollie Eiderduck) is millionaire Oswald C. Gander, who is seen in a flashback in W JW 14-02. Oswald "donated the 500-acre green mountain campground to the Junior Woodchuck" "plus lots of other goodies", and the Mogul calls him their benefactor. He could only be seen in three panels and we know that he is "extremely superstitious about the figure eight". I think he could be used someway amusing.

We also know that he apparently has a habit of making very creative leaps of logic, which sounds like a character trait you could certainly have some fun with.
After learning about this Albe Uivelo story I commented about above, I wanted to find out how many Egmont stories there have been until now that had main characters that first appeared in Egmont stories. Here is what I found (I only considered post-1989, 4-tier comics with at least 5 pages):
