I don´t know if there are many fans of the Mickey-stories made by Noel Van Horn, but I am definitely among them. In my opinion many of the (about) 70 Mouse-stories written and drawn by him are real master pieces, also some of his Duck stories are extraordinary. I would like to have published in the Disney-Master-series as much as possible of Noel (and of course also of William) and if he ever read this topic I would like to tell him how greatful I am for his work.
The end of the Paul Halas/Noel Van Horn “A Worthless Trinket” has my favorite image of Goofy ever!
Anyone have an illustration? I'm getting curious.
I'm sorry I'm not good at scanning/posting images. In any case, you need the narrative set-up to understand why it's such a fun image. But if anyone else can post scans from the story, I'd include the panels with Goofy on the boat at night from the next to last page as well as the final panel.
The only story that rivals this image of Goofy for me is the great Pippo e la Banda Tris --but in that one, it's the reveal of what Goofy has done that's so immensely satisfying, and that isn't summed up for me in any particular illustration from the story.
