As Disney is deeply rooted in fairy tales and folklore, online info about Disney stories is often only a few clicks away from folklore studies. And one thing that has long interested me is the fact the folklore scholars use certain indexes in order to place a story within a certain type. Most famous are the Aarne-Thompson-Uther Index and the Motif-Index of Folk Literature, which categorize stories by motifs and simple plots. Now, it struck that you could apply the same principles to Disney comics, which also follow certain types. There's Mickey detective stories, Beagle Boys comeuppance stories, Zeke Wolf plans, money bin stories, you name it.
How would you go about constructing such an index? By main character? By country? Artist?
