as a disney comics fan, more precisely, donald duck comics and therefore, the junior woodchucks organisation, i have a few questions.
do we know their rank structure?
as far as i know, its like this
trooper corporal sergeant lieutenant captain major colonel brig general lt. general
5-10 etc general but is there any ranks of lt colonel and major general? according to the Carl Barks storie The day the mmountain shock, the ranks of colonel, major and captain exist. hewey, dewey and louie is demoted again and again becouse of mistakes with their Cookie dough. in turn ,this is messing up their commanding officers uniform. they even are demoted to the rank of Drone. so, is drone lower then corporal?
sorry if this is something wierd but im kinda JW nerd

This is something I've been thinking of as well. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is '10 star general', though.
I recall one Barks-story where they say that major (or some other usually high position) is the lowest grade there is. I guess drone has entered the hierarchy after the events of that story.
In the English script of "The Day the Mountain Shook," the boys start out as generals. Due to the disasters with the pancake batter, first Dewey is demoted to colonel, then all three to majors, then all three to captains. The final demotion is to "mere beanheads." Pluto, here by editorial decree replacing Snozzie as the Official Hound, has been demoted to Beanhead along with the boys. It's not entirely clear whether "beanheads" is an officially recognized bottom rank (seems unlikely) or whether it is a status beneath all rank. I'd go for the latter, since HDL are not even allowed to join in on the hike.
Please note that the following ranks is from italian stories
sergeant lieutenant
there is an italian storie where the 3 boys ( HDL ) has agreed to dress up as 19 century schoolboys. when they are opening their frontdoor they are greeted by their Grandmogul. Being angry in the belives that the troop has recommended the boys to an hogh award, the boys are demoted to "Simple 2 star lieutenants" for wasting the Moguls time.
Also - side note. in another story, the boys are training for their 9 star survival test. Honeslty, this is why i love the JW organization. all the ranks and awards. Meritbadges and ( as seen abowe) X Star survival tests etc

It would seem, that kids can apply for JW membership during the Jamboree and register with a recruiting officer. And if they are accepted as Cadets, they will have to pass an initiation test during the novice period in order to be accepted as full members.
After the Cadet, the lowest known rank is the Captain. And then come the Major and the Colonel. And the Colonel is one level lower than the 5-star General. JW generals are apparently promoted with 5-star steps, which is why the 5-star General is promoted to the 10-star General. And when the scout trooper becomes a 10-star General, they have a chance to complete the honorous title of "Exalted Hightail." The highest known General is the 90-star General O.O.O.T.Q.F.U.E.
At some point the Generals advance to higher ranks. And possibly the first following rank after the General is the Lieutenant-General (this, however, my own assumption). But after the generals, the order of the higher ranks and titles is not known and everything goes blurry, for example, we cannot say where the Fieldmarshal, the Grandmarshal, the Commander-In-Chief and the Chavalier-Of-Honor-Guard are. But it is clear that the Supreme Council, which consists of the eight most highest members of the organization, is the supreme body of all after the H.E.A.D.HO.N.C.H.O (who, of course, is the person in charge).
And I would think that the "Beanhead" is more of an informal title. In this case, the scout trooper still has a "window of opportunity" (the period of time to prove their worth) so that their Troop Commander (Grand Mogul) can see if they can be re-qualified before the Troop Commander fires them from the organization. And once the "window is closed" (this period is over), the chance to take the opportunity is no longer possible. The informal title "Beanhead" also resembles the name of another scout organization, the Little Booneheads, suggesting its mock purpose (but this is just a theory).
Note: I only used the JW stories of Barks, Rosa, Strobl, and Vicar as sources. But because there are so many of them, I’m not going to list each one individually, but the biggest emphasis is on the stories of Barks and Rosa.
