Ahaaa... a story that hasn't been published in Norwegian AT ALL. Even better.
If you're following our Disney Masters, you'll see the very first Goofy/Hazel crossover soon!
Ooh, which story is it specifically, if we may ask?
It's certainly this one from 1960, the first story in which Goofy and Hazel interact.
Carlo Chendi was the main instigator of the whole series, often aided by Bottaro on the artistic side: The match of characters were their idea and for some time they were the only two artists producing Goofy vs. Hazel stories, a series that became an instant success in Italy. Still is.
On a side note, matter of fact I do believe Italian readers of Topolino must have been completely freaked out by this American story from 1965, where Goofy at the simple sight of Hazel runs away with terror shouting "YEOUCH! A witch!". The translators left the scene as-is without "localizing" it, probably completely oblivious of what was, by then, the standard view of the two characters' relationship in Italy, after no less then 6 stories already published on the same magazine in which "Goofy does not believe in witches, no matter what you do to convince him" (All of them written by Chendi, of course)
Hence my winky-smiley... (the situation is still absurd as heck, though)
Heh, guess I misinterpreted you.
But yeah, her design in this particular story is reasonably similar to a lot of popular depictions of Santa's wife. I'm sure I wasn't the only kid to jump to that conclusion.
