Though I cannot find it back where, he was mentioned before on this forum thread. If I recall well, it was suggested to merge him with Roger O'Drake. I plan to create a page on the website that has an overview of all these merged characters. That should make it clearer what all has been merged together, and the characters on the tree can then be linked to their entry on that page.
-Also, we see the family of Silas McDuck in the DuckTales episode he appears in, and they are not on the tree yet, afaik. There’s a lot of empty spaces for Silas’s kids and grandkids, maybe some of these could be used to fill that?

In relation to the suggested move of Paperonzo and Asa, I was thinking about what then to do with the related branch (Andtonius + Panhandle + Pieretto + Buckaroo "2 gun"). - Panhandle doesn't really have to be on this branch, as he is just related to Donald/HDL (as a fourteenth cousin, so actually he should get a completely different branch on his own very distantly related). - Buckaroo "2 gun" duck is a merged character of "2 Gun" Duck (who is just related without any specification in the story how) merged with Buckaroo "Buck" Duck (who appeared in a few stories, but I don't even know if there is any story that says that he is actually related). - Pieretto, whose official name is Pieretto Paperetto, so he shouldn't be named Duck on the tree. He should be distantly related to both Grandma Duck and Tom Paper. So he should somewhere on the Duck branch, but probably connected via his mother's side. - And then there is Andtonius. I never read the story. I just know about him via this site, where it is said that Andtonius And is Elivra's uncle (so not her grand-uncle) and born in 1853. So much too young for the generation he is currently in. Maybe he can be Paperonzo's son?

In S 87011, the Paperus anticus is said to be the link between the Paperus preistoricus and the Paperus. Some scans here. This is from the Italian translation. No idea how this is phrased in the original script, but since Paperus probably refers to the species of the present Ducks, then the Paperus anticus and the Paperus preistoricus are ancestors.

As for the Paperus preistoricus, there is no feather or anything else seen in the story, but maybe we can still put one entry for it in the tree, as ancestor of the Paperus anticus, as we know that there should be at least one ancestor that is a Paperus preistoricus (though it will have no image and no actual name on the tree). As for the position on the tree; the best fit for them might be on lines below the ducks from the Paperut series and above the prehistoric bird from D 2016-011 (hmm, maybe that bird can even be a Paperus preistoricus).

The "oga" thing just sound to me as some Fethry-nonsense and not as any real evidence that he is related. I'll preface what I say by reiterating that I'm no expert on these subjects - I'm doing some quick research, so I could be mistaken.
So, regarding Paperus Anticus and Paperus Preistoricus, there are two main difficulties in understanding how to incorporate them as a species into the tree:
The first is that it's a cartoony world; when we look at depictions of 'cave ducks' and the like, they obviously don't match up too closely with reality, because that wouldn't be as funny in many cases. The second is that our ducks are descended from birds (and almost certainly dinosaurs) rather than the human evolutionary process - while there are clearly some parallels to human evolution, we know that the earliest ancestors were birds/dinosaurs. As such, while parallels can be drawn, they're not necessarily clear-cut; my thoughts here will be speculative, and building an 'evolutionary theory' for this universe.
With that noted, here are some notes: As mentioned, I'd believe Paperus to be a parallel to Homo Sapiens. What we have thus far would track with this - according to Wikipedia, Homo Sapiens emerged around 300,000 years ago.
In this line of thinking, the Paperus Anticus would then be a parallel to Homo Erectus. Initially, I wasn't sure about this; Homo Erectus is one of the longest-surviving species, which would beg the question of why the information on it was seemingly so scarce. Rereading it, he mentions that "Questo arcipelago é stato la culla del Paperus Anticus" - "This archipelago was the cradle of Paperus Anticus". As such, he's not looking for proof of Paperus Anticus' existence; this is more a study of its origins.
Then, of course, there's Paperus Preistoricus - which would be a parallel to Homo Habilis. Considering the story was published in 1991, it most likely followed the understanding that evolution from Australopithecus to Homo Sapiens was linear in that fashion.
Now, on top of this, there are some details I feel worth noting: In Timephoon!, Bubba is referred to as 'Duckus Lopithecus'. This is most likely meant to be a version of Australopithecus - which preceded Homo Habilis. So, if we take the words at face value, we can assume that Bubba, and other Duckus Lopithecus, would have preceded Paperus Preistoricus. It's also worth noting that this could mean that 'Paperus' in English would be 'Duckus' if we follow this line of thinking.
This actually tracks with having Daffy's family on the tree; Daffy's species is an 'Ebony Duckus Impossibilus', which has a close relative in the 'Ebony Duckus Rarus'. This could, in theory, give credence to the idea that 'Duckus' is the modern-day Homo Sapiens, with different subspecies (Further explaining the differences between Daffy and Donald).
For now, we'll ignore Darkwing Duck and the way it adds to the concept of evolution; it doesn't track with pretty much anything else. If we get any Darkwing characters added, we can revisit the idea that dinosaurs were intelligent beings and consciously put a stop to human evolution
So, finally, we have Canardosaurus Furibardum. For clarity, I'm mainly calling her that because it's the only 'proper' name for her that I'm aware of - not using that as any hard evidence of placement or anything. The problem is that we don't know the specific time placement for D 2016-011. I can confirm that the French version takes place 150 Million years ago. Apparently, mentioned previously in the thread, the Dutch version takes place 100 Million years ago (Would be best if we could get scans confirming this to be sure). Might it be worth looking into some of the other versions, like the Swedish or Norwegian versions, just to see if there's any clearer information on the date? Obviously, it's far from realistic, but looking at some of the identifiable dinosaurs: Triceratops - 68-66 Million years ago Pteranodon - Ballpark of 88-80 Million years ago Brontosaurus - 156-146 Million years ago Stegosaurus - 155-145 Million years ago Ceratosaurus (Not 100% sure) - 161-146 Million years ago
As such, it seems like the Triceratops and Pteranodon are outliers - otherwise, the comic would make more sense if it took place around 150 Million years ago. I won't say that definitively without seeing the other versions, but that's what we'll work with for now. From this, we could most likely infer that Canardosaurus Furibardum is some kind of archaeopteryx? She looks the part, to an extent. I could be wrong on this understanding, but from what I can see, archaeopteryx was a dead-end in terms of evolution - is it possible that, in this universe, archaeopteryx kept going, and evolved down towards the Paperus line?
Also, while it's feasible to bring up, I think that it might be worth revisiting the first forms of life, as seen in Looney Tunes #109. It was agreed previously that they not be included - this was mainly because, if we assume them to be specific ancestors, we run into some pretty significant difficulties. However, if we look at the idea of an evolutionary process, rather than individuals, it's possible to make room for them. The earliest known life forms, which would have been cells like these, are thought to have originated 3.7-4.1 Billion years ago. There's not really a name on them, for obvious enough reasons - if we go ahead with this, it would be easiest to designate them as either 'Earliest Microbial Lifeforms' or 'Origin of Life'.
So, then, the line would be approximately as follows: 4.1 - 3.7 Billion Years ago: Origin of Life Evolutionary process - maybe worth looking at the lifeforms seen in 'I Bis-Bis di Pippo' (I TL 2645-1P) but I could understand avoiding them if it too clearly links Goofy to the tree. 150 Million Years ago: Archaeopteryx/Canardosaurus Furibardum Evolves down the line 4.2 Million - 2 Million years ago: Duckus Lopithecus (Bubba would be moved here) 2.31 - 1.65 Million years ago: Paperus Preistoricus 2 Million - 200,000 years ago: Paperus Anticus 'Modern' - Paperus/Duckus
As for actual visualization, I don't know how much extra work this would be, but maybe we could have 'time periods' listed along the side? As in, the place where currently there are years listed, maybe there could be some kind of bar running along the side, denoting when each of those species would have lived? There could, then, be pictures denoting them (Like the feather and skull of Paperus Anticus). I've put together a little mockup - nothing spectacular, but I feel like I'm not articulating my actual thoughts very well This is just a concept - obviously the species don't match the correct time periods, it's just to show how it'd work in general:
As for Crapilloga, I think it's best to track the story down - which I fully intend to do. I've mentioned before that I like to work financially - might it be worth trying to see what other frame stories in the series would be worth looking at? I'm looking through all of the I CD stories on INDUCKS; my current line of thinking is that if the volume has a lookalike story to pick it up. Any others, I could look into at people's suggestions
Regarding the 'Could Be' relatives, I'll work on including the relatives of the relevant characters as well - to my knowledge, that's not infeasible. Douglas doesn't change anything based on what we know, and Crapilloga doesn't have any relatives beyond Fethry that we know of. Dickie would necessitate Goldie's inclusion anyway, and the only other relative of theirs I know would be Uncle Papudo - though I could add others if necessary.
As for Crapilloga's inclusion, I have no objections - we have Douglas regardless of questioning, so Crapilloga is fine by me

Okay, so I'm just spitballing at this stage, but to hell with it, why not?
So, I've made the argument for Little Helper and Mad Ducktor - the significance of those two is that while they're both spawned from Gyro, they aren't exactly biological clones. If this goes ahead, then I feel like it's worth noting the other major section - past lives.
The reason I bring it up is because, like with those two, it's a bit more loosely defined. However, I do think there's merit in including them.
This begs a question of how it would be represented should they be added. Again, this is more spitballing, as we're already looking at adoptive relatives and clones - I'm mainly just throwing it down now rather than later.
Maybe something like a squiggly line?
Again, not a major concern, but while we're looking at the rest, might as well throw this in the ring
should we consider dickie duck as an adopted granddaughter of Scrooge, and add Goldie's family to the tree?
As much as I'd like to, we don't have any concrete evidence of the connection, to my knowledge. I have Dickie and some Goldie relatives in a 'Potential Relatives' section, along with Crapilloga and Douglas - characters who have grounds for such an assumption, but there's no definitive answer.
If there are any sources which confirm the connection between Scrooge and Dickie, I'm all for adding her and the O'Gilt family!

A few years ago, I came to the conclusion that Douglas' surname must be Duck. The reasoning behind this was that his introduction story, Uncle Scrooge Visits Cousin (not published in English), has Scrooge sending a package addressed to “K. Anka” (Konrad Anka, Douglas’ Swedish name in this story). Donald assumes the package is addressed to him (his Swedish name is Kalle Anka). Therefore, it seems like this story requires that Douglas shares both the first letter of his first name as well as all of his surname with Donald. Douglas’ surname being Duck fits this requirement. Thus, we currently have Douglas' father being named Duck and his mother being a Duck.
However, in subsequent Douglas-stories, being a McDuck and living up to the McDuck-ideals are core character trait for Douglas. Every subsequent Douglas-story translated into Swedish renames the character “Dunstan von Anka” (McDuck rather than Duck) and in English he is consistently named McDuck. In A McDuck by Any Other Name, he specifically says that his “old father nagged for seven years about how a real McDuck should act”, which cements his father as a McDuck. (Worth noting is that this story also suggests that Douglas was in fact adopted, but this is irrelevant to my point.) Okay, so I guess the evidence for him being “Douglas McDuck” very much outweighs him being “Douglas Duck”. That’s fine. Now the question is who his parents (or adoptive parents (whatever)) are. I’d prefer if it were either Angus or Jake, since I’d like to mainly stick to Barks and Rosa. But both of them have problems.

However, they seem to have lost contact with Angus, who had moved to Mississippi at least 20 years before. The Scottish McDucks not knowing about Douglas’ existence would explain them claiming that Scrooge was the last. It seemed to me that all we knew about Douglas’ youth was that he dug gold with Scrooge in Klondike. If he were the son of Angus, he would have been born in Mississippi and then traveled to Klondike, rather than originating from Scotland. Also, Douglas said that his “old father nagged for seven years about how a real McDuck should act”. I interpreted this as his mother divorcing Angus when Douglas was seven (circa 1874), as otherwise this nagging would go on into adulthood. Also, a divorce would explain why Angus is without a family when Scrooge meets him in 1880. It all seemed to fit very neatly.
Then I realized that, according to A McDuck by Any Other Name, grandpa Titus/Dingus McDuck talked to both Scrooge and Douglas when they were little. This means that Douglas grew up in Scotland and pretty much eliminates Angus as the father. Could Jake be the father then? Well, Douglas growing up in Scotland means that there is no reason for Fergus, Jake, and Sir Quackly’s ghost to say that Scrooge is the last male McDuck. And if Jake were Douglas’ father, he certainly wouldn’t say that Scrooge was the last.
Of course, the concept of contradictions is not a new one in the Duck universe. I’m just stuck on this one. How do you guys suggest we solve this?
Fanfiction-y, but it's not like that's not most of this sort of project anyway. I tend to assume Douglas is from a different McDuck branch, going back a couple generations behind Scrooge, not just one; and that any issues of "last of the McDucks" get kinda solved by imagining there was a grudge between the branches, and thus the Scrooge branch not seeing them as real McDucks for some reason.
In other words, I'd have Douglas' father be a cousin of Fergus, not a brother.

Moreover, if Jake was divorced and did not have any contact anymore with his (adopted) son, there could be an additional reason to not consider Douglas. Of course, this is only relevant if it's important for you to keep to the "Last of the Clan McDuck" statement, which is by itself problematic and doesn't hold anyway for the tree. Even if you would make Scrooge's McDuck cousins more distantly related (and thus of another McDuck branch) there is still Gideon McDuck and Scrooge's twin brother Mani buche. So, Jake being the father of Douglas isn't anything more problematic. Anyways, what would you then want to do with Whitewater? Make him the son of a daughter of Jake?

We see the "origin" of the phrase "the last of the clan McDuck" in The Last of the Clan McDuck. Rather than being the literal last, it seems to be more about the ability to make the name respectable. Presumably, Hortense and Matilda will marry and take their future husbands' surnames, leaving Scrooge as the last McDuck. But even as an adopted son, Douglas could make the name McDuck respectable. It's difficult to read this passage with him in mind:
Like, even if Douglas were the adopted son of Jake, this would be a huge insult to both of them. I can't imagine this scene taking place in a universe where Jake is the father (adoptive or otherwise) of Douglas. If one were to try and cram Douglas into a "Barks & Rosa universe" wherein Scrooge is thought to be "the last" McDuck by Fergus, Jake, and Sir Quackly's ghost, Douglas would have to be the son of Angus - the idea that Douglas grew up in Scotland with Grandpa Titus/Dingus is simply incompatible with what has been established in Barks & Rosa stories.
But that's just me publicly thinking about my own head-canon, I guess. As has been stated, this ultimate tree project already contradicts Barks and Rosa, so lore contradictions shouldn't be considered a problem. But Jake has so few lines in all of his appearances, that this "Scrooge is the last" sentiment is one of his few defining characteristics. Thus, I think Douglas (and all of Jake's other sons) should be placed elsewhere. Maybe as the son of Bhaltair, Catfish, or Donald McDuck instead? (Sorry for giving you more tree editing-job to do, mkr!)
Finally - Whitewater's surname was established as Duck in Log Jockey, so his mother should be Douglas' sister.

A new update of the tree (version 16) is now available on the website. Quite a large update this time. Many new relatives have been added, including Magica’s relatives , an enormous amount of Looney Tunes relatives, as well as various other ones. Also, some smaller corrections and rearrangements to the tree have been made.
I hope I have not forgotten to add some characters that should have been added. However, since the update is so large and the last update was quite some time ago, it's easily possible I have forgotten someone. If so, let me know, then I will add those with the next update. Also, let me know if you notice any mistakes.
