So in the Gottfredson strips, Mickey's eyes changed at the end of 1938, during the first publication of "Mickey Mouse Meets Robinson Crusoe". But "pie eyed" Mickey appeared several times in comics since then, and now I am trying to put together a comprehensive list of those apperances. Here is what I have so far:
1993 - KJZ 136: The Perils of Mickey: Return to Blaggard Castle - part of the "The Perils of Mickey" branding campaign.
1993 - XU POM 1B: Blaggard Castle (from the The Perils of Mickey magazine) - 2 page summary of the classic Gottfredson story, part of the "The Perils of Mickey" branding campaign.
1993 - XU POM 1C: Outwits the Phantom Blot (from the The Perils of Mickey magazine) - 2 page summary of the classic Gottfredson story, part of the "The Perils of Mickey" branding campaign.
1993 - XU POM 1E: The Mail Pilot (from The Perils of Mickey) - 2 page summary of the classic Gottfredson story, part of the "The Perils of Mickey" branding campaign.
1998 - I TL 2243-3C: Super! - only cameo, non-pie-eyed Mickey is the hero.
1998 - D 98091: Picturing The Past - pie-eyed Mickey appears in memories.
2000 - D 2000-034: Mickey's Trailer - part of the "From All Of Us" book, which is based on a classic animated Christmas TV special. Story is an adaptation of the classic short film "Mickey's Trailer". I absolutely love Ferioli's art here. Later he imitated Gottfredson's style in "The Mystery of Freefer Hall", but here he is imitating in the art style of classic animated Disney shorts. It's really lovely to see this specific art style in comic form and wish Ferioli did more stories in this style. I mean look at these panels!
2002 - D 2000-022: Steamboat Willies - ghost of pie-eyed Mickey appears
2015 - I TL 3130-1P: Tutto questo accadrà ieri - pie-eyed Mickey appears along modern Mickey
2016 - F DBG 1: Une mystérieuse mélodie - Glenat album
2016 - F DBG 3: La Jeunesse de Mickey - Glenat album. Borderline case.
2016 - F DBG 4: Café Zombo - Glenat album
2018 - I TL 3280-6P: Tutto questo accadde domani - pie-eyed Mickey appears along modern Mickey. Sequel to "Tutto questo accadrà ieri".
2019 - F DBG 8: Horrifikland - Glenat album
2019 - F DBG 9: Mickey All Stars - Glenat album. Pie-eyed Mickey on some pages, modern Mickey on others.
2019 - F DBG 10: Super Mickey - Glenat album. Borderline case.
2019 - F DBG 11: Le secret de Tante Miranda - Glenat album
2021 - F DBG 14: Mickey et les mille Pat - Glenat album
Please let me know if you know of any other pie-eyed Mickey appearanes in comics after 1938!
