I've learned that the go-to name for obscure, far-off places in Dutch stories is "Verweggistan," a literal transposition of "Farbackistan," which itself apparently originated in Carl Fallberg's The Fantastic Flying Goat (1964).
I'm trying to find how instances of "Farbackistan"/"Verweggistan" have been translated in French over time, but first I'd need to establish a list of stories in which the name was used. I know of Ben Verhagen's In het voetspoor van Jules Verne, but I'm sure there must be many others! Could you guys and gals give me a few pointers?
