Great talk about Disneyland and its promotion. Had to go and continue reading about it afterwards.
Kind words, thank you! It was a treat for me to learn about that from my guest host Dan Cunningham, who was passionate about his Barks & parks remarks ( ).
This week's episode: the Mines of King Solomon! This is a great episode; I'm pretty passionate about this story, and regard it as an underrated one (going by the INDUCKS ranking).
I neglected to post last week's episode, so here's a twofer! Last week we put out the episode for "the Black Pearls of Tabu Yama," a fun story from "Christmas in Disneyland" that I regard as underrated.
This week is an especially notable release, as I got to have Disney Comics writer John Lustig join me for just the second time to talk about the classic ten-pager "Flipism" (officially-titled "a Flip Decision")!
So I’m listening to the episode about All at Sea and Mark pointed out something I hadn’t thought about before, namely the colouring mistake of the people of Bantu. Barks have clearly coded them as black Africans but they have been coloured as white.
At first I thought this was going to be yet another point of contention for me about the colourization in the new Barks Library but when I went back and compared US #31 with the Library version I discovered that they actually had done some of the things I longed wished for: fixed the bad colouring of the clothes of Scrooge and the Beagle Boys, as well as corrected the colour of the rats. Great! And yet the African people are still depicted as white. So yeah… not as bad as I thought but still something to gripe about
I’ve really been enjoying this podcast and I’m listening to the Island in the Sky episode as I type this. I want to go back and explore some of those episodes I’ve missed but I like the format and different guests. I just wanted to drop a note and say thanks for a fun podcast.

I just listened to this one at work today! Good stuff!!
I’ve been enjoying Barks Remarks and Rosa Remarks, although I have to admit that, between Barks and Rosa, I’m more inclined to revisit Barks’ work more frequently than Rosa’s. But both podcasts do a good job of examining the work of these creators.
