The next episode seems to reference the 1990 movie, which made me excited. "Treasure of The Lost Lamp" was how I was introduced to Ducktales, and it was after watching it that the Disney Comics grew on me, so this may be a particularly nostalgic experience for me. I'm guessing the warrior is Dijon, the thief who appeared in the movie and in two of the last episodes of the classic, (including the two-part finale), since I saw a bedoiune-like character at Comic-Con Panel. Not sure if Merlock and Genie will appear, since they weren't in the panel, though the missing artifact might be the lamp, sooo... Genie?!
On Gandra Dee... I'm always excited when they bring back some character from the classic series, though i'm not sure what to think of her description. Since she wasn't among the most memorable characters in the original show, I'll wait and see what she turns out to bring us as a "punk rock scientist".
I also have a hunch that the warrior thing is a refrence to Dijon. It would be an interesting upgrade from a thief and it matches design they introduced at comic-con.

Uuuuugh MORE Della? Seriously? I was actually excited for her to make her animated debut, but this entire arc is full of ridiculous plot holes and conveniences and it gets SO MUCH attention. How many Della episodes (Including these) will we have so far, not only half into the season? Four? Ugh. Also gotta love how they will completely change another well established character like Gandra Dee for no good reason once again. This show really likes to do that, huh.
Could you mention a plot hole?
And Gandra Dee wasn't a "well established character", she was just another bland female character, people don't remember about her. And.. I mean, the original DuckTales was made in 1987, people's interests changed, adapting an old character to nowdays's audience is/should be a good thing.

I personally have no objection to the updating of characters from the original show, especially when it was sorely needed ... DuckTales '17's versions of Webby and Beakley, and even Fenton/GizmoDuck, for example, are far superior to their '87 counterparts. It's mucking about with elements of the venerated comics universe that rubs me the wrong way. But I guess it's a matter of personal preference ... the comics mean a lot to me, but I don't care much for DuckTales '87; fans of that show, however, may not look to kindly upon the reinterpretations that the reboot has adopted.
While the general impression seams to be positve I did seen fans here or there complaning about changes to Fenton and his mom, but very large portion (in not 99% mayority) of the fans seams totaly on board with changes to Webby and Beakley if not over-joyed they finally did something interesting with the characters. People get more emotional abut Gyro or Magica as they already had great, established personalites and any update felt unnecessary and a down grade.
Gandra is a character I usualy forgets that even existed whenever I talk with fans of the old show, as depsite appearing in like 10 episodes, she simply didn't leave that much of impresion or impact. I mean, Im not even sure how I would describe her personality beyong "She's nice". (Ok, I guess I can add "she likes Fenton a lot but have her limits when he crosses the line" but that's still not much there)
BTW - I found this fan drawing some one made base on the episode descritpion :
Eeee... Why not? At least she looks interesting here...

Image of Rockerduck was shown on Italian Duck Tales facebook page. He will be voiced by John Kellog Hodgman (Baby Mama, Il Primo dei Bugiardi, Pitch Perfect 2)
Acording to Disney wiki (Base on interview with the creators) "He will be portrayed as a wealthy robber baron and competing billionaire to Scrooge during the 1930s."
My theory that he willbe a villain from Scrooge's past in the western theme episode feels to be more and more correct..

Okay, I'll admit it's less about plot holes and more about plot conveniences, but still.
Like, Della spends 10 years alone on the moon without going insane, without showering, without any food and water? Like, the Oxy-chew provided water and nutrition, even though when the Oxy-chew first appeared in the remastered Ducktales game, all it did was provide oxygen, the writers of the reboot only came up with the "Oxy-chew provides water and nutrition" thing to excuse Della not starving to death. Also, either the effect of one gum lasted for this long or one package has enough gum for 10 years, both are absurd.
The excuse that the pig lady couldn't see Della because of the smoke is so dumb because Scrooge sent hundreds, hell maybe even THOUSANDS of ships to look for her! Are you telling me that NONE of them passed throught the moon when there WASN'T any smoke?
The whole "the ship runs of gold tech" thing is not only SUPER out of character for Scrooge, as usual, but the fact that the Moon was conveniently FULL OF GOLD, THE EXACT THING DELLA NEEDS TO RETURN HOME makes it such an absurd Deus ex machina, it just baffles me.
Also these moon guys are extremely out of place for the show and I couldn't care less for them. And I have no idea how they've never met Della before in a whole decade.
I agree with "That pig lady/any other person not finding Della", "Della not going crazy" and "The moonlanders not finding Della" things, but i think that there's an explanation for the Moonlanders problem, since.. They only appeared for 1 episode and we don't really know much about them. (And, about the Della not going crazy, maybe in her perspective only 1 year or so has passed? Like, i don't really remember Della herself mentioning that she's been 10 years on the moon)
The whole reason that Oxy-chew(s) exists is because plot convenience. It didn't made sense that Scrooge was alive and okay on the moon for more than 5 seconds, someone realized it and created the Oxy-chew, the writers of the reboot only expanded and used it. (And like, the whole Duck-Mouse-Dog universe is absurd, having a gum that lasts for 10/wathever years isn't the worst thing)
the fact that the Moon was conveniently FULL OF GOLD, THE EXACT THING DELLA NEEDS TO RETURN HOME makes it such an absurd Deus ex machina, it just baffles me.
Eh, that one is established comics-canon, though — The Loony Lunar Gold Rush, natch.
And while we're talking Barks space stories, the Moonlanders aren't any more out-of-place than Munchkale or the various aliens in The Interplanetary Postman, really. And even before his "wacky 60's" period, Barks had established life on his version on the Moon in that story whose title I forget where Donald has a rocket-race with a Pete-dognose-lookalike.
That's if the show hadn't already established it sort of shares a universe with Wander Over Yonder, anyway.
And besides, when the show has so many improbable sci-fi and fantasy elements already, why should aliens be where you draw the line?
This show is kind of like watching a really slow train wreck. Just when you think they can't go any further off the tracks than they already have...Della's story pops up, Rockerduck shows up as a competitor from Scrooge's past... The creators of this show know the comics and claim to be fans...but what in the world are they doing? The really strange thing is...I keep watching anyways and enjoying it. Except when I over analyze it.

Eh. Dislike the Della stuff all you like (I don't mind it as its own thing but I can see how it can let down fans), but I don't see the problem with new-Rockerduck; if one wants to keep Rockerduck and Glomgold as both "Scrooge's #1 competitor" in their own right, pulling one back in time a few decades is a very neat trick, and what with his name and all that, Rockerduck does feel right at home in the 1930's — though, perhaps, not the same 1930's that the episode is set to feature; Rockerduck should be a big-city gent. As for his design, it seems chiefly based on Barks's Rockerduck, which is perhaps a controversial decision, but certainly not a clueless-non-fan one.
"DUCKTALES: It is my surprised delight to announce that I will be the first human in history to voice JOHN D ROCKERDUCK, an obscure rival to Scrooge McDuck who debuted in a 1961 Carl Barks story and was then promptly forgotten pretty much everywhere but Italy, where Wikipedia tells me he is still super popular! All of this is actually true, and I am so grateful to get to literally embody an obscure cultural reference and look forward to being THE MOST FAMOUS VOICE ACTOR IN ITALY. Thank you @ducktalestv for putting me in this incredible mix. If you’re not watching DuckTales, I mean, come on. It’s great. Please watch “The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck!" next Wednesday on @disneychannel and @disneynow.
Also this technically makes me part of the MCU I think, so see you in Phase 4!"
