Angones has posted at length about what they're doing with Steelbeak and basically, the idea is that we're watching the very beginning of his career with F.O.W.L., and that he will up his game with every appearance. I don't know if that really came across for now, but it certainly explains the strange characterization without resorting to assuming that Angones misunderstood the appeal of the original Steelbeak.
That sounds like the after-the-fact justification that Zack Snyder and his acolytes gave for their brooding, fearful, destructive Superman in the movie Man of Steel--"hey, this is Superman at the beginning of his career, he's going to grow into the character you all like!" Then they let him stay mopey and killed him in the next film. Call me cynical, but I've heard too many of these lame rationalizations by lame creators to believe any of them.
Hummm.... On one hand this episode had a LOT elements that I love/wanted from this show. Mainly a Treasure hunt adventure with exploring new lands and perils... At the same time something was clearly missing, that could have made this episode more epic/interesting. Webbby arc could have been executed way better...
It's just odd how for so many years (centuries?) the Mermaids didn't figure out what happned to the king or the harp, since the entire place dosen't felt that big.
Still the elements that I like where there and I was happy for them.
It was very nice to see Donald join in for the quest in a story he dosen't have any arc. He just part of the team, doing Donald-stuff but it work for me and the joke about the way Dewey made him angry was my favorite joke in the episode.
The hippie (I like that they used the word to describe them) merrmaid where funny and I like the grace they where moving when we see them for the first time.
I like that the only Little Mermaid refrence (at I was scared/expet that there will be series of parodies for entire episode) was very subtle. I woudn't be suprise if some kids won't catch it.
The voice acting on The Harp was plesant and the character was a great call back to the orginal show and expansion on that character.
Scrooge final line about hippies was priceless
But BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY that Della. She is super pointless here, isn't she? If I ever seen an episode that was writen without a character and then the glue her in the last minute this would be it. We also finaly get full version of the new theme song and she seams to be pointless the way they just sick here in the scene (I didn't even noticed her in the dragon cave the first time I watched it)
...not that she did anything to ruined the episode for me, but it's just shows what little impression she made.

So is Daisy officially confirmed for next week's episode? IMDB seems to think so ... and asserts that she will be voiced by Tress MacNeille to boot ... but I'm not sure how reliable they are.
I'm almost sure she's the "party's no-nonsense planner" Donald has to get past in the episode.
Looks like you are right : (acording to "Disney Television Animation News")
"Louie plans a break-in at a high-class party hosted by Duckburg’s most popular tastemaker, Emma Glamour, so the Three Caballeros can play as Donald tries to get past the party’s no-nonsense planner, Daisy Duck.
Tress MacNeill and Bebe Neuwirth guest star as Daisy Duck and Emma Glamour, respectively. Bernardo de Paul and Arturo del Puerto return as José de Carioca and Panchito Pistoles, respectively."

Is that last image official or fan-art? I'm looking forward to seeing Daisy, but I hope she becomes at least semi-regular. Tress MacNeille being listed as a guest star suggests otherwise though. Bebe Neuwirth is a guest star I'm already familiar with, for once.

The poster is official, for a measure officiality. Various people from the core DT17 crew (Colleen Evanson, etc.) have been posting "movie posters" for landmark episodes of the series ever since Season 2. If you look at the episodes' pages on the Wiki, we always post the poster as well.

Looks like they haven't altered her personality too much from recent animated appearances like House of Mouse or Quack Pack. Good. Being voiced by Tress MacNeille helps too of course (yes, I know she didn't voice the character on Quack Pack).
BTW I'm delighted with the huge role Donald has had so far in Season 3. He's like a co-star of the series now along with Scrooge, which is the way it always should have been.
And yhe, I also enjoy that so far we are geting a lot of Donald this season.
The description for next to episodes appeared :
Astro B.O.Y.D. - Gyro, Fenton and Huey take a malfunctioning B.O.Y.D. back to the lab where he was created in Japan, but as Huey bonds with the robot boy, a secret from Gyro’s past threatens to destroy the city and Gizmoduck.
Disney wiki mentions that episode will guest star - Tamlyn Tomita as Inspector Tezuka and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Akita
(Finaly an epsiode that may develope Gyro's character! Tezuka if of course last name of legendary manga creator - Barks of Japan if you will - so It will be also an anime-refrence centric episode)
The Rumble for Ragnarok! - Dewey must embrace his inner heel to beat the beloved Viking wrestling champ Jormungandr in a battle royale for the fate of the Earth.
Disney wiki mentions Kristofer Hivju as Jormungandr.

Well that was pretty good! I'm a sucker for bringing back a bunch of miscellaneous characters at once. Bit off that they changed Gabby McStabberson's design. And Falcon Graves smiled rather a bit too much compared to his first appearance in terms of character consistency — but he was a very effective villain per se. I like the new Daisy quite a lot, and they certain sell the chemistry between her and Donald.
