Disney released not one but TWO clips showingof Mark Beaks.
Knowing the in-joke loving showrunners I wonder if Billonare club equals cameos by Rockerduck, Maharaja of Howdoyoudostan, Tallgras Longhorn, Millonera Vanderbuck or Ollie Edierduck.
Hum... This part reminds me Homer's Simpsons one-time boss Hank Scorpio (mix with Steve Jobs, of course ) -
The best part of that first clip is how Scrooge and Glomgold aren't too busy glaring at each other to even look at Mark Beaks, even when directly addressing him.
Promos usualy have limited material to use. They don't want to show to much.
Yes, but Donald was actually in that scene, on the left standing next to Scrooge, and they cropped it to eliminate him, which was curious (it's not as if Donald's presence in the episode was a spoiler). However, I see now that they also cropped the right side of that screen, so maybe it was just a technical issue.
Overall, I more-or-less enjoyed the episode, having now grudgingly accepted that supernatural elements are de rigueur for this show. Gladstone was portrayed well, as insufferably lucky and annoyingly smarmy without being overtly condescending, and the voice fits him well. I hope this isn't the last we see of him in this series. I would've loved to have Scrooge tell Gladstone he's "not his uncle", and to have Della appear in the flashback scenes of Donald/Gladstone's childhood, but that's just my never-satisfied inner nerd speaking. Wasn't Fergus supposed to have appeared in this episode? Fans were speculating that the scenes of the Macaw skyline that we saw in past promos was St. Canard ... now that we know that's not the case, Darkwing Duck fans will probably be disappointed (that doesn't include me). And the gag at the very end made me laugh; the writers don't take their show's own premise too seriously and are willing to poke fun at Scrooge's own "thirst for adventure".

I think they were parodying two besotted lovers too engrossed with longingly staring into each other's eyes that they're oblivious to anything else ... hilarious.
Finally, for the first time in animation -- a proper Donald VS Gladstone story! I like this incarnation of Gladstone; he's pretty much exactly as smug, self-centered and douchey as he should be; charming and funny enough that you don't really mind that he wins most of the time, but enough of a jerk that you really enjoy it when he loses.
Paul F. Tompkins is a good voice for him... though to be honest, I think Disney would have done just as well just going for Rob Paulsen in the role.

SPOILERS WILL BE USED FREELY THROUGHOUT THIS POST
I, for one, am not a fan of the new Gladstone's voice, though Tompkins' acting per se wasn't bad. I always imagined Gladstone sounding softer and higher-pitched. And I still don't like his new design. A masterful fan altered some screencaps to give him back his trademark haircut, and my heart aches at how much better it looks:
I could live with the beak-adjacent eyes, but combined with the weird haircut and (for me) badly-cast voice marks this Gladstone as a failure (on a purely cosmetic level — he was written well and his animation was as good as everybody else's, which means very good).
It was nice to see some anthropomrophic pandas and toads again — they were introduced as recurring species in Classic DuckTales but toads at least (I think I remember some pandas in comics?) never really caught on in the mainstream comics.
I'd have loved for Dewey Jr. to be left behind at the end when the House was destroyed (in a rather amusing fashion, by the way, I might add) and become a team pet of sorts — only now do I notice Bolivar and Tabby's omissions from the new show and the void they leave behind. Alas, no such luck. Guess pet lovers will have to hope for an adaptation of The Lemming with the Locket or even a surprise appearance by General Snozzie.
Also, what the hell just happened with Launchpad here? And more importantly, will any of this be referenced again (making this episode a backdoor segue into much-needed Double-O-Duck-style character develoment for Launchpad) or will it never be adressed?
WOW! A great episode, with many funny moments and wonderfull use of Gladstone with some nice twists.
Paul F. Tmpkins was great voice for Gladstone (and at time felt very similiar Rob Paulsen, epsecialy the "Thanks Scroogedriver McDolarsign" line) He was more jekry then the old Duck Tales version but never cross the line when you despise him like in some Barks stories.
On one hand he was ready to bit Donald in the challange on the end just to escape, but at the end when the spirit took Donald away he was ready to try to save him with the kids. BTW -> That trick Scrooge pooled was pretty clever.
I love the part when Gladstone is trying to lose but can't help it and montage of him and Donald growing up was brilliant (especialy the Beagle Boy cameo)
Know as Maciej Kur, Mr. M., Maik, Maiki, Pan, Pan Miluś and many other names.

Hmmm... I think I have to disagree with you about the hair. The classic hairdo looks good on Kid Gladstone, but the adult one looks awful in those altered screencaps.

I think Gladstone is perfect for "supernatural" element episode. After all, with his good charm the only way to put him in peril is to use some magic charm that can hex his good luck or is more powerfull, other-wise you can't realy have him in danger knowing his fortune will save the day...
VERY BIG SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW -> Did the ending reminded you the end of "Dime Enough for Luck" from old DuckTales? You think Gladstone learn some sort of leason and then BANG! Something lucky happens and he forgets about what he learn.

The more I think about it... This episode trully felt like it could been episode of the Old show. I can easly imagine the same plot with old versions of the characters.

That would be cool, though the Maharaja went broke at the end of his story. I think a cameo by Gotrocks would be cool, also.
