So uncle scrooge will have only 32 pages? Most of these comics had around 40 pages before, at least all the mickey and wdcs, I have almost all of them by idw. Also instead of a new one shot monthly title couldnt they just left mickey or donald a mothly?
The page count went to 32 a few months ago for all the monthly titles due to printer costs. That's why we had to break up "The Magnificent Doublejoke"—a 36-page story that was supposed to be a single issue under the old page count, but had to be broken up into April and May's Mickey.

All May comics still had 44 printed pages, but the number of comic pages was reduced to 32. So the difference is less comic pages and more (in-house) ads.
Are idw comics the first disney comics to have glossy paper? How was the paper with previous publishers? I m in opportunity to get some wdcs from the era when they had 60 pages, was thinking how god these releases were? Slight off topic
Thank you, the ones I was thinking of collecting are issues 601-698, that all had bigger page count. Were these comics normal floppies or were they like paperbacks?

They are "prestige format" or what was known as squarebound in those days, similar to the recent 75th Anniversary WDC&S special that IDW put out, with glossy paper (although not quite as thick or glossy as the current IDW books). The range you quote covers both the latter half of Gladstone II and the entire run of Gemstone issues (so yes, they're good!).
Thanks, I will check these out. While I did stock myself with bunch of italian comics it still makes me sad that we lost Mickey and Donald titles. There is just something about the bigger floppy format and better paper then in topolino issues and of course reading the characters in their original language; english. Cool thing about IDW issues is there is no Barks or Rosa stories which would be pointless since most of us have them in Fantagraphics books. And the cool thing about the same comics from previous publishers was a bunch of Van Horn and other guys that made great comics, also they were all 4 rows of panels per page so there was more reading material. From IDW I only collected Mickey and WDC&S stories issues, since I had overload of ducks with Rosa and Barks books, main reason I started buying monthlies was I wanted more Mickey stories, and Mickey comic was really great, makes me sad its no more. With all due respect to everyone, if they are gonna have 2 regular monthlies( and two quarterly) I dont understand why they couldnt simply have 4 bi-monthly titles and save the original lineup but hey, what can you do. Maybe one day they come back.
