Suprised there isn't already a thread about this, so I thought I'd create it.
The Scrooge Mystery is a very interesting looking duckumentary, being made from a French fan, Morgann Gicquel, about Don Rosa and his work, especially the Life and Times of Scrooge. Also, many of his famous fans, like Tomas Holopainen, famous singer in the Scandinavian countries, will appear in this movie.
See their very interesting trailer:
The project is currently on Kickstarter, looking for backers, with the first goal already achieved, the making of the movie is definitely going to happen. However, they need more funds to produce the film in even better quality and even make Blu-Rays or DVDs of the film for the fans. Anybody who wants to help their crowdfunding and get to see the movie plus other special awards, can find it on Kickstarter here:
Brand new award available on the kickstarter, where you can get, among others an original sketch by Don Rosa himself and a real golden nugget! Check here and help the cause:
And the 50k goal has been achieved so DVDs for everyone! If anybody had any doubts about not getting a physical copy he can officially help the cause now, with only 3 days left on the campaign and the extra stretch goal of 65k being the next target, so everyone can get a crisp Blu-Ray! Kickstarter

Lets do this!!
A bit confused about the text for the new goal. It doesn't really say that everyone with a DVD-included pledge will get a blu-ray instead if the 65k goal is reached, just that they will be able to offer blu-rays too (for sale after the project is done? for what price?). Also "we'll be able to get 4K scans so you can really enjoy your Blu-Rays", is that 4K scans of the 16mm footage? It will have to be downscaled anyways for a blu-ray release, and probably for the digtal copy too unless everything is recorded in 4K.

Here is what Morgann, the director of the film says:
"You're right it's not very clear. I'll try to make more sense of it tomorrow. But basically you will have the option to choose either a DVD or a Blu-Ray for anyone who pledged Gladstone Gander and above. A 4K scan of the 16mm film does give us better depth in color correcting and gives us finer grain even when compressed back to a 2K format. The more we'll scan, the more details we'll be able to give back and play with.
Less than 2 days left on the kickstarter people! Make sure you preorder your DVD/Blu-Rays on kickstarter---> Kickstarter! Perhaps DVDs will come out on sale when the film is released but those will probably get ordered quickly so this is the one and only chance to ensure that you get a copy of the film.
Also check out Don Rosa's Facebook page for his special b-day wish ! And don't forget, each euro counts!!
And it's official!! Blu-Rays for everybody who pledged above the Gander award ! The goal was lowered to 64k and this was accomplished a couple of imnutes ago.
Whoever wants to ensure they get a crisp Blu-Ray version of the film on their hands, don't fear! There are still a few hours left on the Kickstarter so you can still get your copy...
Purely amazing how in less than a week they got 15.000€ and the last week at that! Great news indeed!
