Sound like Emarald City Comicon is the place to be this weekend – I wish I could be there to watch IDW’s panel.
In addition to the new comics based on Mickey Mouse shorts, they just released info about an upcoming series of French Disney comics from Glénat. The first title is "Mickey's Craziest Adventures".
According to CBR, IDW will reveal more info about upcoming Disney comics in a panel later today.
So far two albums are published in this series in France, and I think two more are scheduled for October. Sounds like IDW plans to start a series, so we might get the other one in English too. Here's a preview of the second album, Une mystérieuse mélodie.
I saw a preview of this a few weeks ago and loved the look of it which made me hope that IDW would eventually translate it so I'm happy to see that it will be happening.
The format they're planning to release this in has me concerned though. A series of 48 page hardcover books for $15 each if that ComicBookResources article is correct. That's a very steep price and it's just not really a substantial amount of pages for a hardcover release in my opinion. I think it would make more sense to release these as special issues like the 75th Anniversary or Christmas ones they did last year and then compile all of them into a hardcover once they're finished.
According to the inducks page, the main story for the first book is 44 pages long. That's only a few pages longer than a normal issue from one of the main four series.

I read them both in French. They're definitely good !
I think the fans will mostly enjoy "A Mysterious Melody", the second one, which contains lots of easter eggs about the 30's Disney Cartoons and the Gottfredson serials. I wrote an English synopsis of it on INDUCKS, if you'll care to check; you'll find it as "Une Mystérieuse Mélodie".
The main good thing about "Craziest Adventures" is the art, which is good in a Don-Rosa-y sort of a way, but the story is disjointed; intentionally so, but it still didn't do much for me: you see, they have this plot device that the story is supposed to be a facsimile of a serial published in the U.S. back in the 60's, and that some pages could not be found, which means that there are often gaps in the story. It's interesting,
About the price and page-count… that's the standard hardcover comic format in France; you take Tintin or Astérix or Walter Melon or Spirou, it's always published in that fashion, with the price somewhere between 9 and 18 euros.

Perhaps you did not notice but the comic won't be realesed in standard comic format, but in European comic format (A4, about 9x12 inch). I think that licence requires the publication of such, and not another format. Additionally, I think that licence for this comics is much more expensive than for standard Egmont or Sanoma comic.
After several delays it looks like Mickey's Craziest Adventures finally is about to get on sale. Previews list it for a December 28 release as I write this, and Amazon say January 10. But IDW just put out a preview on ISSUU (they usually do the week before they get on sale) and I got an e-mail saying my preorder is on its way in the mail.
I hope IDW will continue publishing albums in this series, because the artwork in Café Zombo that just got released in France looks awesome!

Mickey and Donald the Search for the Zodiac Stone is available tomorrow, too. Between Mickey's Craziest Adventures and this one, it's shaping up to be an expensive week!
It's good, but other than being done in an atypical art style, I'm not sure what the fuss is all about, nor why it warrants a celebratory publication. It's just a gag story.
It's for comic snobs who usually point their finger at Disney comics, calling them children's stuff. Don't get me wrong, I like Franco-Belgian comics, but in this case I don't get the hype, either.
