For those that purchase their CBL and DM books from "Book Depository", this was posted on their Twitter page.
Book Depository@bookdepository
We are sorry to let you know that Book Depository will be closing on 26 April 2023. You can still place orders until midday (12pm BST) on 26 April and we will continue to deliver your purchases and provide support for any order issues until 23 June 2023.
I saw it yesterday when I by chance checked in on Bookdepository. Really sad news since it’s mainly from them that I’ve been buying my Barks library books and other stuff. Those sad news prompted me to order a couple more of the Gottfredson library to get the free shipping before they close down.
For those in the US, DCBS is a great service for buying comics at a discount. I order monthly and it’s got all of the pre-orders so I get the Dynamite Disney comics in addition to the Fantagraphics books and my regular other non-Disney books this way. Just listing another option with book depository closing.
“Sorry if this has already been answered, do we know approximately how many volumes Fantagraphics is doing yet?”
I am not an insider, I do not know.
That said, Fantagraphics has reprinted stories from 1947 to 1961.
That’s leaves us with 1942-1947 (4 volumes), and 1961 to 1967 plus the Junior Woodchucks material, some scattered Donald Duck stories and (hopefully) some of the special stories that were unfinished or completed later by Van Horn, Lustig, Jippes, Geoffrey Blum; e.g. Somewhere In Nowhere, The Duck Who Came To Dinner, Golden Apples. 10 volumes. What does everyone else think?

No, Barks' post-retirement Junior Woodchucks stories have been scattered as bonus features in some of the latest Donald Duck books. A weird choice from an editorial viewpoint. Fantagraphics clearly doesn't have confidence in a volume collecting the post-retirement stories by themselves, in their proper chronological place.
Can someone please explain to my why "The flying farmhand" was removed from vol 21 (second print)? I read it yesterday and I don't get it hahaha.... what's the problem??

I believe it is due to Disney banning all stories (and cancelling new ones) including characters from Song of the South because of its racist background, in this case Brer Fox

So stupid! I actually sent an email to Fantagraphics about this and asked if they would include the story in a future print. They answered "I can't comment on that one as matters such as those are under Disney's control." So weird!

The ban is worldwide and doesn't just forbid publishers from printing such stories, it also forbids them from commenting on the fact that they're NOT printing such stories, even in the case of otherwise chronological reprints where anyone can see that stories are being skipped.
But yeah, Fanta is right, they can't really comment on whether they'll include the story in future prints, it's not their decision to make.
You should have both printings for the complete collection:
"In first printing some dialog concerning Native Americans has been rewritten in the stories "Trail Tycoon" and "The Wax Museum". In the second printing all the original text is restored."

Have you tried eBay for the older editions? I was able to get a first printing, copy of Christmas In Duckburg which included the Flying Farm Hand. And the latest printing of Under the Polar Ice is completely uncensored.
