From a personal inspection, I'd instantly agree with Kim—with one exception: it looks to me like Carl at least penciled some of the lettering in the much later "Oddball Odyssey (US 40), likely due to the difficulties of adjusting to Western's weird new format.
In a follow up mail from Kim: "Carl apparently never stopped penciling, however loosely, the lettering on his stories, but Garé's lettering style did become more dominent around WDC 182"
One thing that I realized suddenly when this discussion came up, is that I grew up in Italy with different letterers, very good ones. So then I went on wondering how important it is the lettering for a comic reader such as myself. I have to say that it has some importance, not really a lot, but depending on the story I am reading, lettering helps in forwarding the story. I have several examples in mind but of course this is off topic.
Ok, so Amazon is helping me to complete the picture
10. Walt Disney's Donald Duck: Scandal of the Epoch Express (Heymans's bros) 11. Mickey Mouse: The Ice Sword Saga - Book 2 (De Vita) 12. Donald Duck: The Forgetful Hero (Cavazzano) 13. Mickey Mouse: The Sunken City (Fallberg & Murry) 14. ? 15. ? 16. ? 17. ? 18. Van Horn!
How come you didn't find Volume 14? It's up on Amazon. (Edit: ah, seems it's only findable if you go into Amazon's own category for the Disney Masters series.)
14. Donald Duck: Follow the Fearless Leader (Kinney & Hubbard)
“New Adventures of the Phantom Blot” sounds like a fun one!
From the Amazon description: "Disney's infamous inky bad guy was the first Mouseverse villain to get his own comic book; by popular demand, the whole Silver Age series is collected in one volume!"
The stories might not be among the best written, but they are fun and with a strange mix of characters like The Phantom Blot meets Super Goof and The Phantom Blot meets Mad Madam Mim. And it looks like the book will be extended compared to the regular Disney Masters page count to fit the entire series. I hope they include the one-pagers too, and not just the longer stories. As a Blot fan I'm looking forward to this one!
Hm, interesting choice. They’re not as good as the Fallberg serials but they do have a certain charm and it will be nice to have the whole run collected.
Does this mean I can start hoping for a volume of the Ludwig von Drake comic?
There almost was an unlicensed Ludwig Von Drake collection, due to a publisher looking up copyright renewals incorrectly. Once they found out the issues were indeed still copyrighted, the book was pulled from Amazon. I don’t know if any copies were actually printed.

I think it would be a really neat collection. The four issues would be around 130 pages so there’s some room for Ludwig’ appearences in WDC/DD as well. And I think they were all illustrated by Strobl so it fits the Masters idea. Oh well, one can dream...

I'd rather see a "Best of Tony Strobl" collection, with mainly his early Donald Duck long stories mainly from "Donald Duck" and the Dell Giants, although a Ludwig series would be okay, too. A Jack Bradbury and Dick Moores, and Bill Wright series would be good, too.
I just got all of these issues for Christmas. Oh well, I’ll be looking forward to this one.
"Just"? Christmas was 5 months ago.
Five months isn’t that long ago and now a HC for the Phantom Blot series is announced. Not the first time I’ve collected a series only to have the HC come out shortly after.
