If they have to fit with Barks and Rosa vision (which means Rosa's vision and his hijacking of Barks's work), then none of them.
Ok which ones fit with Barks vision san Rosa? Thanks
Definitely the ones collecting Dutch Disney comics, namely this one by Jippes and Milton and this one by the Heymans brothers. Jippes-Milton are basically the pioneers of the Dutch school. They tried to recreate the Donald Duck ten-pagers in the style of Barks from the 40's. The Heymans brothers are those with the most recognisable and refined art style, still very 'Barksy'. Unless they cancel the series, there will be future volumes dedicated to Van Horn, as you mentioned, and to Marco Rota. Those are less similar to Barks from a storytelling style perspective (than the Dutch), but definitely conceived as 'personal continuations' of the Barks universe. Check them too.
The other duck volumes published so far in the series mostly collect stories by Italian creators that were contemporary of Barks in the 50's and 60's. Their approach is inevitably visually and narratively much different. (They did not even actually know who Barks was when they started their careers.) They come from a different comics culture and from around sixty or fifty years go. And they have not aged as well as Barks, at least story-wise. Now, you may like them or not, but expect something very different from Barks style. Even in the way the ducks interact with each other.
Other than Barks and Rosa i haven't read other creators of duck books. I would like to pick up some of these Disney masterworks but want to pick them the feel they can feet with Barks and Rosa vision.
Other than the Daan Jipps and Van Horn volumes which other ones do you guys recommend i pick up?
Thanks

Hijacking of Barks' work?? Not more than any other Duck artist has hijacked Barks' work. The only difference between Rosa and most Duck artists is that he can actually write a decent story.

Rosa's approach to Barks's material is different than any other, and you know it well. But I agree on the fact that unlike all others he is an actual great storyteller, possibly the greatest American cartoonist of the last forty years. If there is one person that does not need to be convinced of that in this forum is me. It's not like I am, I don't know, some kind of obsessive Van Horn's fanboy or some other weirdness like that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Every artist deserves at least one obsessive fanboy! Anyway, since we are already talking about Van Horn, it seems we now know the first content of the upcoming Van Horn volume: "It's Bats, Man!". inducks.org/story.php?c=KD+0990 I mean I am guessing it will be part of the book because it was printed in this issue: www.freecomicbookday.com/Catalog/JAN200024
In my opinion it's a lesser early Van Horn story, I rated in 3/5 a few years ago when I re-read all of his Disney comics in chronological order. These 14 stories are the ones I rated higher than 4/5, I am hoping many of them will appear in the book:
I have to say that other than the not yet officially announced William Van Horn volume, I find the "New Adventures of the Phantom Blot" the most exciting yet. There is something very appealing about the entire run of a comic book being reprinted in a single hardcover volume. What I'm wondering about is why the decision was made to publish this book before "The Return of the Phantom Blot" was published in a Paul Murry Disney Masters volume. As far as I understand that story was basically the introduction to the Phantom Blot comic book series.
Doesn't look that way. For the first four volumes we got both Mickey Mouse/Donald Duck "gift sets" and collector's box sets with the books cronologically. But last year we only got collector's boxes for volume 5-8, and it looks like that is the case this year too for volume 9-12. Even the two Ice Sword Saga books are in two different box sets (not that I'm complaining - I actually prefer it this way)
Fantagraphics have created a new and fancy website, but for the Disney Masters series it's kind of annoying trying to check for news...
You can sort the series by "Featured", "Best selling", "Alphabetically, A-Z","Alphabetically, Z-A, "Price, low to high" and "Price, high to low". But by volume number/publication date that is the most logical way to sort the books, nope. So you need to scroll up and down make a list in your head if you want to find out what new books are planned.
I am guessing the Marco Rota volume will be a "best of Marco Rota" affair, but I would also love to see an Andold Wild Duck volume, collecting his 8 comics starring Andold Wild Duck. 186 pages in total, perfect Disney Masters volume length!
So are we really getting 3 volumes in the span of one month? Vol 12 scheduled for next Tuesday, Vol 13 scheduled for November 3, and Vol 14 scheduled for November 17. Weird schedule but I'm not complaining.
