(By the way, a question to the site administrators: I tried finding the post I link to above by searching this thread for 'Casty', but it simply doesn't turn up. Instead, I had to find it manually. What's up with the search engine?)
My best guess was going to be it wasn't finding it since the only writing of Casty in the post was "Casty-featuring" and thus it wasn't catching it, but later on the post does have "Casty" by itself. No idea- this is free forum software, issues like that will be caused by Proboards and not really on our side, sorry.
Dang. Irritating that you can't know if something has been written on the forums by literally searching for it.
OT about searching: Over at support.proboards.com tons of people have the same problem and are requesting a reindex of their forum. I'm not sure if this can be requested in any admin options (doesn't sound that way) or if you need to do a public forum post over there to get it fixed..
A little workaround is to ex. use the following search on google: "site:featherysociety.proboards.com casty"
Disney Masters are great, and the best in the series are: Number 1: Paul Murry Number 2: Romano Scarpa
I'm looking forward to that Fantagraphics will publish ALL the stories, even though it may be very optimistic due to they both had a very large production. However a good start would be all the long Mickey Mouse stories in WDC by Paul Murry. Until now it is a fantastic start that they have published them in chronological order. Also great that they will publish the Phantom Blot stories. And it will be great if they will publish at least all the old Romano Scarpa stuff (50s, 60s and 70s), both mouse and ducks. It is a fantastic time for Paul Murry and Romano Scarpa fans
Scarpa and Murry are perhaps the tent poles that hold up the rest of the various creators who are deserving of greater attention than they have gotten, like Al Hubbard, Massimo DeVita and Luciano Bottaro. Like I’ve said before, so far there hasn’t been a bad book in the series, and we get to see stories that otherwise would have been forgotten or unknown in the US.
ALL the stories by Scarpa is simply not gonna happen. The amount of material he drew over 50 years as a Disney comics creator is insane. (Italy's complete Scarpa library consists of 51 volumes of around 370 pages each.)
There's a reason Fanta decided to go for a "best of" or "interesting selection" approach with the Scarpa books.
A few of Scarpa's stories are in the IDW Timeless Tales volumes as well, although I suspect those books will be harder to come across after awhile.
They already are... only the latest (third) Timeless Tales volumes of Scrooge, Donald and Mickey can currently be bought from Amazon. WDC&S Vault and The Zodiac Stone book are unavailable too. IDW certainly isn't reprinting them.

That's the reason why I suggested, when it comes to a possible German Scarpa series (one can dream, eh?), to only collect the stories he wrote himself. The bonus would be getting the seriality/continuum of his Mickey stories, something which has been talked about before.

Sorry to be going off-topic, but would you recommend the Walt Disney Comics & Stories Vault?
To be honest, this is the first I'm hearing of it. Does it contain much that couldn't be found in other volumes? If you're going for collecting most of the other books anyway, is it worth getting?

I love hearing about bizarre/obscure Disney works - recommendations welcome!

"In other volumes"? Do you mean in other IDW hardcover volumes? ALL the stuff in WDC&S Vault is unique to that volume -- it comes from various IDW issues of WDC&S as well as their WDC&S 75th anniversary special. I really enjoyed it -- a lot of variation in stories and characters. In addition to ducks and mice you get Li'l Bad Wolf, Ludwig Von Drake and tons of others.

Ahh, okay! Yeah, that's what I meant. I ordered Timeless Tales Volume 1, and almost made the mistake of ordering The Diabolical Duck Avenger (all of which is in Timeless Tales Vol 1), so I'm trying to be more careful when buying.
There are some copies available on Amazon UK, so I was planning on picking one up today. Thanks for the help!
