So I'm a bit confused here about what the point of Walt Disney Showcase is. From this solicit, it sounds like the first issue is going to be Donald focused. Which is fine and all but we've got Comics & Stories and Donald and Mickey printing Donald stories as well so what exactly is going to differentiate the three from each other? I feel like it would've made more sense to keep Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck as monthly books than to have three bi-monthly series each printing similar content.

The June Crosstalk page said the following about the Showcase series:

"And then there's Walt Disney Showcase: a new monthly docking in September, with one-shot issues for Donald, Mickey—and everyone from Goofy to the Beagle Boys! This is our scientific testing ground for new stars, and our crack science team can't wait to start."

So it sounds like we could get Donald and Mickey-stories too. But my impressions was that we would get stories that is a bit different in one way or another (art style or uncommon characters etc.). From the description it sound like the first issue will have Paperino & Paperoga tuttofare da crociera. If so, I can't see anything special with this story - it could easly have been printed in a regular Donald Duck issue too (and it's not even that interesting in my opinion - I've read it)

But I'm looking forward to the next story with Eurasia in WDCS #741!  A bit strange that none of the two covers are by Casty or for the story though. I hope we at least get this great cover when part 2 is printed.

Well I ve said it 15 times here, if there is to be 2 monthlies there could have been 4 bimonthlies and save the main 4.
Or simply save mickey or donald instead of starting a new line.

Its nice the americans are getting the most recent eurasia story, they are all great

Isn't the only Stabile story where Scrooge goes on a treasure hunt with Dickie "l'ultimo scrigno"? There's no wishing crown in that one. Just a golden bell.

Nice! If I may ask (or more correctly, if you can reply), is it just new in a sense like "it was made already and queued for a chance to be printed in Italy so we're seizing the opportunity to print it first" or is IDW now outright commissioning Disney Italy, regularly, for new stories?

I'd say there's a good chance we'll get that terrific cover along with part 2. That's what happened with "Helmet of the Gods"--the wonderful Cavazzano cover appeared on Donald Duck 21 (388), with part 2.

Whatever the merits of "The Bad News Bruise Cruse" as a story (I haven't read it in any language), I'm quite happy to get a story with art by Lara Molinari. An Inducks search shows that we've only had one multi-page story drawn by her published in the USA: Concina's "Breakfast of Champions" in 2008. Plus two one-pagers and one IDW cover.
