I'd love to see another Darkwing Duck comic book series. Not a reboot, but a follow up to the Boom & Joe Books series, ideally written by Aaron Sparrow and drawn by James Silvani.
Would you accept a "dark and realistic" reboot like they are doing with the Hanna-Barbera comic adaptations?
Well, the Flintstones one turned out to be a surprisingly decent satire... but no. "Dark and edgy" just for the sake of being dark and edgy tends to fall flat really fast. Once you get over the novelty of "look, look, beloved children's characters are drinking and swearing and killing and having sex!" there usually isn't a whole lot there.
Darker material with the Disney characters can work, even without compromising their spirit and dignity as characters; we've seen that several times, but in those cases the creators actually had a story to tell.
That said, I think I'd like for the Disney comics creators to focus on new stories rather than trying to reboot or continue old ones.
"Topolino e il caso sottilissimo", (called "The Big Fat Flat Blot Plot" in the English printing), ends with the Phantom Blot turning himself into an electrical current and escaping from jail. Mickey having to deal with the Phantom Blot as an electrical current might make an interesting sequel.
ADMIN EDIT: For the sake of keeping the forum's tone, I'm adding a disclaimer here that the story being linked to above is full of swearing and other such content.
