Ah good! I knew I had read it and it’s printed in one publication I own, although haven’t read in like fifteen years. Luckily there wasn’t that many Gladstone stories by Branca to choose from (thanks Inducks!)

This is a perfect example of what makes Branca my top Duck artist. Very few other talents could pull these expressions off (maybe Jippes could).

Speaking of expressions, there's some really stunningly unusual stuff in Mickey Mouse: The Quest for the Missing Memories, which makes it well worth a read despite the rather lackluster dialogue (and, frankly, the insipid plotline). Including this moment, which is perhaps even funnier out of context than in-context:
