... Carl Barks never worked on Disney comics and never wrote (and drawn) his own Duck stories? This mean that none of his characters that he created will exist. No Scrooge, no Goldie, no Flintheart, no Magica, no Beagle Boys, no Gyro, no Gladstone etc. Of course, Donald, Daisy, Huey, Dewey, Louie and Grandma Duck will still exist because they were not created by Barks. Duckburg will probably have a different name because Barks was the one who came with the name "Duckburg". I don't think Don Rosa will be interested in working Disney comics if the Barks Duck stories never existed. Maybe he will never work on Disney comics at all. Don only worked on Disney comics because he is interested in Duck stories by Barks and created some stories that are sequels to some Barks stories. He also created The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck series. He is more a fan of Barks' Ducks works than other artists' ducks works. DuckTales will probably not exist because this series was inspired by Barks stories and some episodes are based on some stories created by Barks like Back to the Klondike and Trallala. Maybe it will still exist but as a different Duck TV Series with different plots and characters (some of the main characters will be characters that we all know like Donald, nephews, Daisy etc.). I'm creating this thread because I wanted to know your opinions on a different Duck universe without the Barks characters. Do you think that it will be still popular or less popular? Do you think the word "Donaldism" will be still used or not used at all? I have seen many fans who are fans of Barks' works but also fans of other artists' works like Don Rosa's. I was thinking that the Duck universe is popular because of Barks and Rosa. Without them, I'm not sure if the Duck universe will be still popular and it will not have many fans. I know that there are Donald Duck fans who are fans of any DD related stuff not just comics.
