Yes, Duck Avenger Vol. 3 will be all-new-to-America stories translated by Jonathan Gray. I realize the reduction to two issues per book is a downer, but know that as first printings these are effectively new productions and not just reprints of material produced for the regular books, so money has to be made back...
Those Donald/Fethry spy stories aren't bad when taken in small doses (and when written by good authors, of which Sarda definitely is one). However, once you have (like I have) read about a million of them, you start to dislike them after a while. And I'd say there are far more interesting things coming from the vast Italian comics pool, like Mickey and Goofy's Time Travels, Goofy's Wednesday Novels, all kinds of stuff... and of course more Duck Avenger classics!
Oh - and speaking of Duck Avenger (PKNA in this case): Proper credits would be
Francesco Artibani, Simone Stenti, Alessandro Sisti (w) • Francesco Guerrini, Alessandro Barbucci (a) • Corrado Mastantuono (c)

It's also interesting that this page length is pretty much the same as the new PKNE stories. While I have strong doubts whether IDW will actually persevere so far and get to PKNE, let alone even PK² (though I'd obviously love to be proven wrong), it's nice that the possibility to print PKNE is now basically given.
thadwell Will the series also include the shorter backup stories (every issue starting with PKNA #8 contained one) and the special issues 1997 (Missing), 1998 (Zero / One), 1999 (The End of the World), 2000 (Super), 2001 (Duckmall)? (The last one belongs to PK².)
I wasn't sure what thread was best for this topic, but we are now going into May so I guess I'll post it here.
We all have been waiting for IDW to catch up to schedule with their ongoing titles after the delays in the beginning of the year. But it looks like we still have to be patient. This is an update of the distributors listed dates for the issue next in line for all IDW series, as of today. But dates are changed all the time so they might be changed again later.
Internal changes at IDW or Disney Publishing Worldwide could very well be all this hiccup is. I prefer to remain optimistic unless I hear otherwise. Please be patient. (Also, as a disclaimer, I have no connection to IDW or Disney, so my posts are for entertainment purposes only...er, should not be taken as anything official.)

That's kinda where I am. I followed different properties at IDW since 2008; they have a good track record of getting stuff out on time. Heck, there are times where stuff comes out even earlier than solicited--how often does that happen at any other company?
That being said, there has been some shakeup at IDW's top editorial level lately. That can't be discounted as a source of some of the delay--some of IDW's other books I follow have been delayed too, though not as much on the whole (one book did have delays comparable to the Disney line, mostly because the artist had to evacuate during hurricane season last fall).
We already know from David Gerstein that there were problems at Disney's approval offices, what with being shut down for a month from a flu outbreak.
Yeah, the delays do bring to mind the latter days of Gemstone. But until I hear something concrete, I'm not panicking or writing IDW off yet.
Hopefully we'll soon have a full listing of all the stories that will be reprinted in the 90th Anniversary Mickey book. Will there be any new-to-the-USA stories?
The Amazon page has Floyd Gottfredson, Al Taliaferro, Carl Falberg, Paul Murry and Romano Scarpa listed as the book's authors. My guess is that it's going to be a best of collection featuring stories from multiple artists. This is the first time IDW is releasing this kind of book so it will be interesting to see.
Do we know anything more about the contents of this book? The Amazon page hasn't been updated.
