It´s been some time since the last volumes of those books appeared. There is no announcement of any further volumes. Does anyone know whether they are planning to continue these series? (Would be a shame if not!).
With all of the other books that the Library of American Comics puts out, they can't focus exclusively on Disney, so I imagine that any series they print has a slow release pattern, based on book sales.
The next Donald Duck volume will be a "Dailies" and is planned for the spring 2019, this was mentioned by the publisher in the LoAC Podcast 006 at roughly 7,5 min in.
I really hope that the 3rd (and last?)"Silly Symphonies" book will come out this Autumn. It seems to have been quite a bit longer than a year ago that The Second Volume was released.
Not that it matters too much, but I hope they change the color on the pre-release cover image. With thre red cover the book looks almost the same as volume 4
Vol. 4 of the Silly Symphonies collection just got announced for a July 2019 release. Looking forward to this book with all the rare José Carioca and Panchito Sunday pages!

I am excited to read the last volume of the ss. But what i am looking for the most is another donald duck sunday volume . I hope they are still working on this great edition in color.

It was mentioned in one LOAC podcast a while ago that they then had postponed the donald duck sundays and were working on the donald duck dailies first and foremost. which i get since they were having four disney series going at the same time then (silly symphonies, treasury of classic tales, donald dailies and donald sundays) who knows, maybe they start the production on Donald sundays after the SS is done.
Just read vol.2 of the SS series. I was never a big fan of Al Taliaferro until I read vol.1 last year. I really liked his early Bucky Bug strips and also enjoyed most of his works in vol.2, especially the Big Bad Wolf (no given name at this early stage and also no Li'l Wolf) and the early DD strips. While I found most of his later Donald strips I read occasionally in German publications not very funny, there are really many good gags in these first ever DD solo strips (published under the SS label). So kudos to Ted Osborne who of course I already knew to be a very good writer from his MM strip work together with Floyd Gottfredson.
What I found also interesting is that - until HDL appear for the very first time - the recurring supporting characters in the Donald strips were all side characters from the MM strip (Goofy, Horace, Clarabelle, Pluto and even Morty and Ferdie) while only Micky himself and Minnie didn't appear. So basically Donald belonged to Mickey's inner circle of friends and acquaintances. Also interesting is the quite different character Donald has in these early strips: he behaves more like a teenager without any social responsibilities who has time to play jokes to adults the whole day - and acts quite sociopathic from time to time as the introduction also states.
Somehow I have a very fond spot in my heart for the very early Disney comics from the 30s and 40s. These nice books helped me discover that that isn't only the case for the Gottfredson and Barks comics from these decades but also for Taliaferro's. (And others as I also liked the Snow White adaption.)
