I guess most pepole interested in this book already have the IDW one (?)
I don't think they were printed in extremely big runs. Vol 2 in particular is very difficult to get nowadays, the cheapest used copy on Amazon is $151.
Yeah, there's a big difference between Fantagraphics' and IDW's Disney strip collections. Fantagraphics keeps their releases in print, whereas IDW's volumes have already been out of print for quite a while. I guess it's connected to them not having the Disney license at all anymore. (Or do they still publish some Disney-related stuff?) I'm guessing the LOAC Disney volumes only got one printing each.
I wish FG would reprint the newspaper stuff from Al Taliaferro and from Manuel Gonzales. That would be without cancelling.
Honestly, I don't believe in Taliaferro's Donald Duck gag strips as a complete reprint project from Fantagraphics. The post-Gottfredson Mickey Mouse Sunday pages look more interesting to me, especially up to the early 60s (the point when Bill Walsh stopped writing them).

I think any publisher ever printing a complete Al Taliaferro collection in the future is pretty unlikely. What I would love to see is one thick Al Taliaferro book with a selection of his comics that offer a comprehensive overview of his Disney work. It could be a Disney Masters volume, but it definitely should be in landscape format (hey, there is no rule that all Disney Masters books have to have the same format). Sure, there have been some Taliaferro books published around the world, but I don't think any of them offer a truly great selection of his comics. My dream contents of such a book:
Gottfredson/Taliaferro Mickey strips examples (YM & ZM): ZM 011, ZM 36-04-12 (Mickey + Donald) + maybe a couple Mickey only Taliaferro Mickey without Gottfredson: ZS 34-06-24 (followed by ZQ-coded Silly Symphonies additions examples), ZM 39-08-20 (Manuel Gonzales + Taliaferro Mickey)
A couple ZS-coded Bucky Bug strips A couple ZS-coded strips without recurring characters (such as Peculiar Penguins or Cookieland) 6 ZS-coded Pluto strips (10+5*1 pages) The Wise Little Hen (14 pages)

Yes, I saw that book on Inducks. I looked at the contents of all previously published Taliaferro books. I don't think it offers an overview of Taliaferro's work as comprehensive as the book I proposed above. Then again, that Norwegian book is only 180 pages, and the book I am proposing would have to be around 300 pages. So for 180 pages I think it's good, but it isn't good enough for a "definitive single volume Taliaferro book".
