With how often some of us haunt these parts, I feel a thread like this may be of use. Basically, if any of us know in advance they're entering a long period where they won't be able to visit the Feathery Society, let them warn the rest here, so that we don't worry or anything.
Obviously I got the idea because I'll go first: I'm going off to Italy for a week without a computer, so don't expect to see me around before Sunday.

Wow! That' very extreme! Only gone from this forum for one WEEK! Most of us would think nothing of that. We would hope that most of us have lives away from this forum with responsibilities, families, relationships, careers, etc. that would every so often, or once in a while take us away for a few weeks to a few months. I might not make a post for a few weeks, periodically. But, when I die, I'll probably be gone for many months before any of you will find out, because NONE of my family members, and most of my good friends don't know this forum exists. I suppose Freddy Milton might tell one of my Danish Disney collector friends or artist friends, who might tell David. Then he would relay the information to this forum. But Freddy and I are the same age. So is Jan Gulbransson. And Daan Jippes is a few years older than we are. So, who knows who will outlive who, among us. If I start getting sick, and am in hospital with serious illness, I'll inform the posters here that I might not be around in the near future, and, possibly, might not return. On the other hand, my close family history says I should be around for another 20-25 years. So if this forum lasts that long, we'll be doing well.

Does anyone know what happened to user "drakeborough" who used to post here with great regularity but hasn't been seen since December 2017? He provided interesting contributions to a lot of the great threads. Is he active elsewhere?

Well, I'm not sure if it's the same "Drakeborough", but there is a user by that name on the Disney Wiki: disney.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/Drakeborough. This user was active much more recently (in April of this year).

Probably is ... he tends to use that name at most forums/blogs/message boards. I wonder why he stopped posting here.

Yeah, I think there's a good chance this is him. I say this because a good portion of his edits are Disney comics-related, and it seems that he was also a contributor to PaperPedia, the Italian Duck wiki. This forum's Drakeborough was Italian, I think. I wasn't on this forum when Drakeborough was active, but I have read through many threads to which he contributed and wish that he still posted.
Good work, Drleevezan! It's easy to see why you are the official Grand Sleuth of the Scrooge McDuck Wiki.

My laptop has problems, it turns off by itself all of a sudden etc and I don't know how much more it will last (it's almost 10 years old), so, until I find a way to get a new one, I'll be using it only when necessary. That said, I don't know when I'll be back. Now you can celebrate my absence.

I'll miss you, whatever. I hope you can come back very soon! Thanks for letting us know.
