Does Joe Books also have the DuckTales license, does anybody know? With a new DuckTales show coming out next year, I'd imagine that'd be hot property. IDW would probably love to put out a DuckTales book, if Joe Books doesn't already own the rights to do so.
They're going to be making one of those Cinestory books with DuckTales so I guess...? I have no idea if there would be anything stopping them from making a new monthly series with DuckTales or if it would be seen as them trying to compete with IDW's current Uncle Scrooge series.
I remember with Boom, the reason they were able to publish Darkwing was because he was part of the license for the classic Mice and Duck characters. I guess on account of how Darkwing was a spinoff of DuckTales. When people demanded that a Talespin comic should be made, Boom wasn't able to do it because they didn't have the licenses to use Jungle Book characters. (Which is probably in a package of Disney animated movie licenses) So unless things have changed since then, I don't think there's just one Disney Afternoon license.
Hmm... The list on the previewsworld.com don't mention DARKWING DUCK #1 www.previewsworld.com/Home/1/1/71/954 My comic shop don't have this comic on list, too. So when the first issue will be published?

I'm not sure if they corrected the list after you wrote this, but it's there. Look under the "COMICS & GRAPHIC NOVELS" category.

I doubt anybody on this forum knows the answer to this, but why are the Disney property comic book licenses split between two publishers? Surely, IDW would have also wanted to put out Darkwing, DuckTales, Disney Princesses, et al., considering the varied titles they currently publish. Back in the early '90s, after the Disney Comics Implosion, the license was similarly split between Gladstone (classic titles) and Marvel ("modern" titles including The Disney Afternoon) but I've always assumed that was because Gladstone chose not to be involved in the publication of new, modern Disney material (I have no reason to believe that beyond a general impression). The situation is clearly different now (having a separate "Disney Afternoon" license, if there indeed is one, makes little sense today). IDW does commission original material, and I guess the new Mickey Mouse Shorts title qualifies as original Disney material, so why aren't they doing Darkwing Duck?.

They have it listed as DISNEY DARKWING DUCK #1 if that would be the reason why you couldn't find it. (The link you posted also takes me to May 4th's releases. Make sure you're looking at the new releases page for April 27th.)
The release date is two days away. If it was going to be delayed, it would be known by now. If your comic store doesn't get it, there will be places you can order it online from.

I think that Joe Books sometimes delivers comics just before release date, so international comic shop don't gent them, beacuse for these shops comics are sent at the earliest. I got info from my comic shop, that it will get "Darwking Duck #1" in next week.
I got the first issue this week. Being the first part of a three parter, this issue was mainly setup for the next two issues but there will still some things in this issue that made it a great read such as a bit with Drake being forced to hang out with the Muddlefoots. We never saw Herb in the last series except for when he got turned into a monster so it was cool to actually see him and his family again.
The issue also starts with Launchpad crashing a float from the Main Street Electrical Parade. How is that not awesome?
Like the Disney Princess comic, there's a preview for a Cinestory at the end. It's for Gravity Falls in this issue. Thankfully, unlike the Princess series, it's only a few pages long and doesn't take up half the issue. The main Darkwing comic itself is 22 pages plus a pin up page at the end and a two page editorial column from Aaron Sparrow. (The latter also including some storyboards from the show. Nice touch.)
I also enjoyed Darkwing Duck #1, both art and story-so-far. I like it when Gosalyn and Honker get some panel-time. Darkwing Duck is less interesting to me when it's just DW, Launchpad and the Villain of the Month. It's not only that I like Gosalyn and that I want more attention to female characters generally; it's also that DW as a character is more interesting to me when he's interacting with Gosalyn.
