I also enjoyed Darkwing Duck #1, both art and story-so-far. I like it when Gosalyn and Honker get some panel-time. Darkwing Duck is less interesting to me when it's just DW, Launchpad and the Villain of the Month. It's not only that I like Gosalyn and that I want more attention to female characters generally; it's also that DW as a character is more interesting to me when he's interacting with Gosalyn.
I agree. The whole original premise behind Darkwing is "What if Batman had a daughter?" Many people think Gosalyn is the heart and soul of the series.
It's not as if she was ignored in the Boom series though. She got plenty of moments in the spotlight there too.
After the setup from the first issue, this issue plunges us right into the action as the entire issue is Darkwing taking on one villain after another. Quite a lot of villains are being showcased here including some more obscure ones.
The last few pages is where the comic starts doing something neat. In the first issue, they had a preview for one of the cinestory books take up the last few pages. In this issue, instead of that, we actually get profile pages for a few of the villains. (Megavolt, Liquidator and Negaduck) These pages are very detailed and serve as great introductions to the villains if you didn't already know who they are. I hope we see more of these in future issues.
