Donald Duck and the Dragon of the Eastern Valley features Donald as a clumsy newly-graduated wizard in a fantasy world, who ends up meeting a tiny green dragon at the end of the story. Upon first reading it, I assumed it was an extra of the Wizards of Mickey saga, showing a young Donald before he became part of Mickey's team together with Goofy, and how he first met his pet dragon Fafnir. In hindsight though, I'm not sure, because the story isn't listed as part of Wizards of Mickey on INDUCKS, and Donald doesn't wear his usual WoM costume… and "Fafnir" doesn't look quite right… but then again, INDUCKS has been wrong about series before, this is a young Donald in pre-adventuring days, and the story is by an artist who hasn't otherwise drawn Fafnir…
Wizards of Mickey, was that that same story in which Donald got a Steampunk robot horse and the Phantom Blot was on the moon?
Nope - that's another fantasy series, the great "Dragonland Trilogy" by the great Caterina Mognato and the great Giuseppe Dalla Santa ("Romano Scarpa II", sadly already deceased): inducks.org/subseries.php?c=Le+Fantaleggende
Wizards of Mickey mainly features the sorcerers trio of Mickey, Donald and Goofy with their "diamagics" versus the Blot and his men (including Pete and some Beagle Boys), although it's grown into a long series with many twists and turns. Just now, a new part was released on Topolino.
And the story in question is in my possession, but I don't recall it. It's definitely not related to WOM though because WOM was thought up by Stefano Ambrosio around 2006 I think.

I've read the second part of this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I recently reread it and really loved how original so many of its concepts were. How all lost items (and emotions) ended up on the Moon, and how the Phantom Blot wanted to use Mickey's bravery as part of a larger ploy to create a ghost army. I wish reading these comics online and tracking them down was easier...
