Anyway, Donald and Mickey actually… hasn't come up yet, so I haven't been confronted with the problem yet. What course of action would you advise?
There were 30 issues of Donald and Mickey (previously named Mickey and Donald), and seven issues of Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, all published by Gladstone during their two runs. My personal inclination would be to ignore the latter and treat it as a separate title (which the renumbering would indicate), and legacy-number IDW's Donald and Mickey as starting with issue #31.
Could you provide a link to the page for Walt Disney Showcase on your Wiki?

There isn't one. I have no pages for books as of now. Perhaps there should be, in time, but INDUCKS is pretty comprehensive in that regard; it felt more urgent — for it is more unique — for stories and characters to be documented. In time, of course, I shall have such pages, but not yet. The issue I described is only for the Behind the scenes section of any given story, which mentions in what English-language books it has been printed and reprinted.
Surprises indeed! I didn't expect Dark Horse to do any Donald and Mickey comics (even if it is parodies) Looking forward to these, mostly for the artwork as I'm not a huge fan of parody stories – but trying to have an open mind for the new ones.
Those stories are more adaptations than parodies - which is not a good thing in my book since i think Disney characters are better suited to parodies. But I seem to be alone with my opinion there, so you can disregard it...
WAIT A SECOND. What the hell does it MEAN to "reboot" WDC? I mean, I'm glad they're continuing the numbering and all, but still: WHAT? This looks VERY strange to me. Also, are they REALLY jettisoning regular U$ comics in favor of that insipid friggin' "First Millions" series? Weird and disappointing.
What don't you like about the "First Millions" series? I can't comment on them, personally, as I have not read them, I'm just curious. And their probably not getting rid of the Uncle Scrooge line permanently, as "First Millions" won't go on forever. As deb said earlier, it'll probably be like when they temporarily replace Mickey Mouse with Cartoon Shorts and Donald Duck with Donald Quest. At least, I hope it's not permanent, anyway.
I have and know the first eleven of Scrooge's Millions. The problem with them is not so much the stories per se but that they get rather repetitive after a while. I think Vitaliano has done better. But it's still Fausto Vitaliano - his snarky dialogues between Donald and Scrooge are always fun. It's almost impossible to beat his humour - except if your name is Tito Faraci

I'm confused with the way IDW changes Uncle Scrooge and WDC&S. WDC&S will continue, but get a changed title and a new #1 at IDW? Uncle Scooge will be stopped and we get a new series "US: My First Millions"? What will be the last Uncle Scooge Issue (IDW #40, #444)?

You're right to be confused, unfortunately none of this has been clarified. It's uncertain whether Disney Comics and Stories will have dual numbering, as the wording in the solicitation was ambiguous. It's also not clear if the regular Uncle Scrooge title will ever come back.

I do not know all the stories published so far on the IDW run of US, but based on what I know publishing the 'my millions' series seems to me as a drop in quality. And it will go on for four issues at least. Considering that it was even already published digitally, it sounds like a strange move.
They have also added information about the size, and it looks like the books will be in about the same size as the IDW trade paperbacks and smaller than regular comic books. I'm still looking forward to these, but I was hoping for a larger print size.

That is very annoying. The main reason I don't buy IDW Disney trades is their smaller-than-regular-comic-book size. Most of their non-Disney trades are regular sized. I suppose I will buy these since there's no alternative, but I wish they would stop doing this. (BTW can someone please confirm that IDW's DuckTales trades are also smaller than regular size?)

IDW (and Dark Horse) are making it far too easy NOT to buy their comics at the moment.
