The price is very high. But Taschen usually publishes a cheaper and smaller version later.
I really and truly hope that's true in this case. I would love to own this book, but the price of this edition is well outside my budget. No chance we can get any confirmation at this stage, is there? BTW, by "smaller', do you mean physical size or is material omitted from the cheaper versions?
Now that the smaller book has been out for some time, I was wondering if material was omitted for it? For Inducksing purposes. Unlike the Walt Disney Taschen book, both versions are roughly equal in length.

Yes—the smaller book deletes chapters 6 and 10. The page count is similar, but at the small size, material had to be spread over more pages, and a decision was made that 6 in particular, with numerous small grids of storyboards, wouldn't translate very well to the smaller presentation.
(I do love 6, though; so much, with some of the only Barks Mickeys in the book. If I can recommend a favorite edition, it's the larger one!)
A similar book about Donald was going to be released this summer, but it seems it won't be published this year at all. I hope it hasn't been cancelled.
After some digging online I found that the book will be titled "A duck's life : the legacy of Disney's delightful Donald Duck", will have around 600 pages and Ramapith did work on it! I am expecting the book to focus on the Donald cartoons, but I hope it will hve a bigger emphasis on comics than the Mickey book did as in the history of Donald comics play a more significant role. Also, David, if the book isn't finished yet, can you please consider including this strip I have often written about in this forum?
I believe it's not only one of the most unique Donald comics ever, it's one of the most unique pieces of narrative art, period, as it tells a story without the inclusion of any human/animal/animate object, so I think it deserves to be included in the book.
"Nothing succeeds like success, as the saying goes, but in the case of Donald Duck the opposite is true: The candidness with which Donald reveals his weaknesses wins our hearts and stays with us forever. Revisit a Duck's life's work from nine decades in one of the most expansive illustrated publications on the Disney universe. Following Taschen's successful volume Mickey Mouse - The Complete History, we witness the career of Mickey's only rival for the throne as Disney's most popular creation. From his debut in the Silly Symphony The Wise Little Hen on June 9, 1934, the authors trace Donald's more than 170 cartoons, his groundbreaking comic adventures, TV, and theme park appearances. As a special treat to his fans, they dive deep into the vaults to tell the story of his unfinished film projects.
With unlimited access to Disney's vast historical collections as well as public and private collections, the authors illuminate Donald's life story with rare concept art, story sketches, background paintings, animation, and comic drawings as well as historical photographs. We encounter the work of all major Donald artists in both film and comics who defined his character including a vast tribute to the «Duck man» himself, master storyteller Carl Barks including never seen early storyboard drawings.
In the history of comics, Donald Duck is the most frequently printed figure outside the superhero genre and has appeared on screen more often than any other Disney character. Since the 1950s, Duckburg expanded toward a truly global village. American artists were joined by a new generation of international colleagues. As Carl Barks once said of Donald: «He is everything, he is everybody; he makes the same mistakes that we all make.» Let's celebrate the world's most famous Duck and best-loved loser with a monumental tribute."
Emphasis mine. I can already tell that this books will be incredible, and can hardly wait!

I am incredibly hyped for this - any word on a release date? I want to make sure I have the money set aside!
